Best Burger in San Antonio...HANDS DOWN!. My husband and I have been to Bobby J's twice. The first time was on veterans day. I remember b/c we were initially going to Applebee's b/c of the free veterans day meal but instead drove past b/c the line was so long. I'm so glad we drove by that day b/c we found Bobby J's right down the road in Helotes. The lady at the register was super sweet and she gave us a 10% discount when we told her that we were originally going to Applebees b/c of veterans day. The burgers were so good! I hate thick fat burgers and these burgers were huge but not thick. The buns were perfectly grilled on both sides (nice touch) and all the fixins were perfect. I say it's probably one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. My husband is torn between Bobby's and Chunky's. I have never been to Chunky's but I think for me it will be really hard for anyway to top Bobby J's. You will not be disappointed unless you're one of those negative Nelly's that will never be satisified. I was just there again a couple days ago and I can't wait to go back.

What happened to your restaurant Bobby ?. Very rude counter staff, my wife was treated badly when she inquired about our cold burgers. Manager is just plain rude, we kust collected our money and left.

Use to be a great place to eat.. New manager is extremely rude, she messed up my order and would not replace it, even though I had not even taken a single bite, I guess it was more cost effective for her for me to return my entire order ($30) then to replace a single $6 burger. Only ray of sunshine is the cashier that has been there forever, I think her name is Benita. Wise up Bobby !

Great burgers, but very overpriced!. I'm a burger junkie and I live about 2 miles from Bobbby J's, so I go there often. I always get the 1/2 lb. jalapeno burger, its hot, messy, tons of jalapenos, just fantastic. The problem is I spend nearly $10 for that burger...no fries, and I get a cup of water. I could go across the street to Whataburger, nearly as good for $5...I'm not too crazy about the fries here, and I have not tried anything other than the burgers. Also, there are so many extra charges for any little thing you want on your burger, I'm surprised they don't charge for mustard. There is even a sign on the soda machne saying that refills are extra...

Great burgers and great service. Bobby J's has great food and great service. The employees are always friendly and greet you as you walk in and thank you as you leave. The burgers are always good and fresh and are reasonably priced. The restaurant has a very good atmosphere and is definately worth trying...and going back.

Best Burger in the Universe. Jalepeno cheddar burger the best there is...don't get the 1/2lb unless you are REALLY hungry. Great hot greasy fries...burger is messy (as it should be). Bobby does not scrimp on the peppers either! I've eaten at Bobby's 25-30 times and only once have not seen him behind the counter. Cold Shiner Bock(s), burger and fries - HEAVEN. Can get crowded Friday and Saturday nights but I go early. Biggest downer - closed on Sunday....

VERY GOOD OVERALL EXPERIENCE!!!. I'm in the process of moving to Bandera, TX from PA and had to stop in at Bobby J's after driving by so many times. I'm glad i did as from the second i stepped in the door until i walked back out, it was a great experience. From the friendly service to the delicious burger and fries. And Bobby even took a few minutes of his time to talk about how he got started and fill me in on some TX history. Great burger, nice price, homey atmosphere, and friendly service with a smile? That's Bobby J's.

Not so good food @ not so good prices. Cool atmosphere. Food was lacking. I would go to any other place around. I have lived in the city for 5 years and I know of multiple places w/ better food for better prices...

laripen good!. After seeing billboards of Bobby J holding up his monster burger for some time, we decided one day to check out the place. And that's a decision we have never regretted.

First, as soon as we walked in, there was Bobby J behind the counter taking orders. He had run out of lolly pops to give to the kids, so he told mine youngins to choose an ice cream out of the freezer.

After browsing the huge selection on the menu, we ordered some burgers and fries and they were ready pretty quick -- cooked the way we wanted them and very juicy. Everyone ate their fill; there were no leftovers, even from the picky eaters.

The burgers were so good, my kids refuse to eat at the "M" place anymore.

If you ever in the area (NW San Antonio), you must have a burger at Bobby J's.

Fantastic Food. We discovered Bobby Js about 3 years ago when living in SATX, and I'm telling you - I would buy a plane ticket back to SA just for one of these burgers. Big (1/3 & 1/2 lb are available) juicy & cooked the way you want it - even if you want it still moo-ing - with whatever you want on it. Don't overlook the fries, onion rings or fried pickles - they're awesome! Good selection of bottled beer. Service is quick & friendly, with a relaxed, casual & family-friendly atmosphere. A complete Texan experience wrapped into one package. Dining room was expanded in 2005 for more seating.
