fun little hole-in-the-wall
by angelagwen
Perfect for family owned, hole-in-the-wall dining, which we happen to love. Went with my husband (who can be a little picky) and my 6 yr old and we all really liked what we ordered. Huge portions and great service.
- Pros: bread and the spinach artichoke dip
Lots of fun, great service, adaquate food
by mooneyland
I can't understand the guy who made the 2 star review. The sauce does not taste like BBQ. Pizza is really good, pasta very okay; meatball and sausage sandwiches really good. Their bread is wonderful and we usually buy and freeze several loaves. Yum! Atmosphere is great with photos of all the celebraties, wait staff is wonderful and this restaurant knows more about making and serving real Italian more than most restaurants of its type in San Antonio. I consider myself an Italian chef, you can find my "Italian Food Mood" recipes at www.mooneyland-dot-com, and once you make and taste those recipes, you'll know that I know what I'm talking about.
Enjoy this place? I KNOW YOU WILL and I'm not related nor do I know the owners.

This is the by far best kept secrets in the San Antonio. A family owned small business with oustanding customer service and FANTASTIC service, ambience, and food. "Papa" proudly servied our country (retired military) and served the guests with the same pride. Today his sons continue what papa started. The family is from New Jersey so they know good Italian food and have passed the family values and traditions down to the next generation! The cool thing is the sons successfully continue Papa's values and love for the business.
OUTSTANDING I WOULD GIVE THEM ANOTHER START IF I COULD
- Pros: Everything about this place is great and family run out of the way
- Cons: Best kept secret, You would never guess this place was so cool from the outside.
