i love it!

I can't believe the negative reviews on this page. It is crazy to me that someone would have had such bad service when each time I've gone with my family or friends it has been spectacular. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. As far as the owner goes, I've met him. He came and talked to me and my friends for almost an hour. He was friendly, funny, and had a lot of great stories to tell. I find it pretty uncool to throw around words like stupid and to make generalizations like he was rude to everyone or he drinks all the time. It's an unfair attack on his character. It seems the people who complained on here are most likely the people who complain everywhere. The type who are always looking for free stuff. Ignore the bad reviews. Go there yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Awesome Atmosphere & Great Experience

I've always gone here. They are super friendly and have fair prices. I've never seen anyone act violently towards customers. I go tubing every summer and if I thought this place sucked, I'd just go somewhere else.

While some might see the manager and owner, Jay Felger as a brash, rude Texan, I and everyone I bring to his establishment find him to be a true Texas treasure. Laughs and stories galore! Pink vintage Corvettes, custom choppers, etc. are always on display. Most of which Jay has built, rebuilt, or bought at auction.... or selling. His staff is friendly, mostly comprised of old friends and local students. His humor and personality are an acquired taste. I personally have a taste for it. Felger's is located in the most prime location on Liberty Ave right in front of the tube chute at the Comal. Tubes, ice chest tubes, ice chests, ice, snacks, and most importantly beer can all be purchased at his shop for a reasonable price. Snarky comments are free. Parking is free, leave your bs in your car.
- Pros: Best local toobing in town!
- Cons: Not good for lame-o's.

horrible!!!!

we rented toobs from here, he charged us for 3 toobs and we only wanted 2, told us since he already ran the credit card that there wasnt anything he could do when we pointed it out, he was obvioulsy drunk, we gave him our keys and got our toobs, it wasnt until we had stood there for 15 minutes and started walking to the shoot, since noone offered us a shuttle, that they came and asked if we wanted a ride, when we got back from the river, he refused to give us our keys, stating that we never gave them to him. locked out of our car in the rain we argued with a drunk man, we finally gave up and used our spare. rude, drunk, stupid....we will never be back

Funny, never had a problem

WOW, we have been renting from Felger's for years and have never run into ANY problems. As a matter of fact my family and I go there because we enjoy the service and how they treat us! When our kids were small he always offered life jackets, his staff help with picking out tubes (that never lost their air), and carried the tubes and our cooler to the bus. We never had any rude behavior at Felgers, and plan to be there this Monday to rent again (just the wife and I for a fun day). Everyone has their days, but I can tell you that the past 15 years or so I have not seen any of these behaviors (well, he does yell but if you are from the east coast that is nothing new!). Regardless of where you get your tubes, just remember to have a fun float and be kind on the river! :)
