Don't waste your Money.
When I first moved to New Braunfels my family along with my Brother from Lubbock went to have dinner at the "Famous" New Braunfels Smokehouse. My brother and I both ordered the Brisket Dinner.
Wow, we could almost see thru the cuts of meat. Even then it was as tough as Jerky (which they also sell) and if there was 4 oz of meat on my plate I would have been amazed. For they price I could tell you numerous places to eat, where you get more and better brisket.
Needless to say, I will never set foot inside that place again. I can't even fathom as to how they get anyone to come back.
My Advice, go ANYWHERE else, you will be more satisfied.
Homemade Texas pork and beef barbecue, especially brisket, featured in spacious surroundings..
What started out as an icehouse in 1943 evolved into a tasting room and retail shop in 1952. Another dining area and porch were added later. Finally, in '67, the business moved across the street to a four-acre tract. Seating accommodates up to 300. The extensive menu features hickory-smoked meats and sausages. Among the most popular orders are brisket, bratwurst and chicken and dumplings. Soups, salads and desserts are also available.
