OMG Onion Rings!. Man, these are the best onion rings I have ever had. Awesome! I never order onion rings, I tasted one of my friends (cuz they pile you plate up high with them!) and was sold!!! I can't even remember what else I had...

Great Place for onion rings and catfish. My boyfriend and I love to go eat at Clear Springs. Every time we go to float the river we make sure to stop here on our way back to Houston. The restaurant is always busy but the food is amazing. The onion rings are to die for and what they are known for.

The restaurant is decorated in old time decor and antiques which is really cool to look at while eating. Food is served on disposable plates so it is not fancy and you can come in and have a good time.

I didn't know that Gruene River Grill was associated with them until I read these reviews but that place is just as good. You can over look the water and watch people floating by. My favorite there is the chicken guadalupe.

It's ok, but you should have been there 5 years ago.. Clear Springs is a nostalgic place for those that associate good southern fried catfish with the old time decor. It's nostalgic for those that spent much time fishing for catfish then frying them up old school.

Unfortunately, over the years the quality of catfish has gone from thick meaty chunks of white catfish to catfish fries. The quality of catfish cuts is such a disappointment that I no longer enjoy taking a drive from Austin to eat there anymore. Granted Clear Springs is a popular place and definitely cranks out the business, but sadly, this is my opinion only, they have sold out to make an extra buck instead of serving quality catfish like they did 5 years ago and back.

Maybe if enough patrons let them know they will become known for their quality catfish instead of a novel/nostalgic place to go.

2 FOR 1. ClearSprings Restaurants is one of the best restaurants you will ever go to in the New Braunfels area. The atmosphere and service are outstanding. Now the owners of ClearSprings have brought the same atmosphere and service to Gruene with the next hot spot The Gruene River Grill. A combination of great grilled seafood and steaks along with your favorite Italian classics and not to mention the fall off the bone ribs, makes this palce a must visit. JUST GO BY AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

The Crowds Speak For Themselves. This place is always busy, which might account for inattentive waitresses, but this aside, this is a wonderful place to eat and ranks as one of our favorite restaurants in this area. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, the dining area is open and spacious, and it has a lively atmosphere. Personally, we have always found the staff to be friendly and fast. Highly recommended.
