Good for families. This was a place perfect for familes. I have been going for over 20 years.

Lots of Great Memories from past stays. My family and I have had the most pleasant times at Heidleber Lodges of all the vacations we have ever remembered. Lodges sit at the mouth of the Comal River. Conoes available to rent. Float on down the river as far at the gated community allows down stream. snorkling, swimming, fishing if you like. Watch the springs bubbling up from the bottom along the way. The Comal travels through a neighborhood, through Landa Park and through Schleiderbahn, through parts of town and then on into the Guadalupe River somewhere down the way.. Toobing on the Guadalupe is a short distance away as well as shopping and lots of great restaurants. Wal-Mart and other grocery stores also just a shot distance away as well as the historic downtown area and Landa Park.

Have alway been comfortable in the logdes with foldout sofa bed just as comfortable as the regular beds. Large regular pool and large kiddie depth pool, if you don't want to swim in the icy cold spring water of the Comal. Kitchenette great for cooking on the stove tops but non of the ovens are hooked up. Grills outside each cabin for cooking outside if you want. Commissary available for snacks, ice, first aid items, etc. canoe rentals. A compressor is provided for airing up your tubes and floats. Our family will always visit there again and again, because I always feel relaxed and well rested when I leave there. Even with the train coming through several times at night. I have always gotten exactly what I paid for. we met several families who have been coming there for family reunion vacations year after year for decades. But ask lots of question about the cabin you are renting if you haven't been there before. Hope this is helpful, and enjoy your stay there.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!. I booked this lodge from out of state so I had to trust what I saw on the website to be correct. The house that I rented did not have the amenities that were described on the website. They even told me over the phone when I called to notify the front desk that they knew that my house did not have the amenities that were described on the website! I wasted about half a day of my short vacation trying to have them provide me with the amenities that they described, so they did the best that they could. I couldn't believe that they resorted to false advertising and then acted like it was no big deal. I'm pretty easy going, so a simple apology would have been sufficient, but I didn't even get that! I was treated with an aggressive attitude and they made me feel like it was my fault for trusting their website and not asking what all "works" in my house! These lodges are un-kept, the people are rude and they are performing illegal action by falsely advertising their amenities on the website. I would never recommend staying there to anyone. Beware!
