A MUST ATTEND. I practically live at Schlitterbahn. There are 3 parts to Schlitterbahn. Schlitterbahn West, Surfenburg, Blastenhoff. My Favorite is Sufenburg. A great waterpark for all ages.
I know a great waterpark when I go to one.
I have been going to this waterpark for 22 years, and it never gets old.
There are 3 sections to this park. Schlitterbahn West (Uses river water), Surfenburg, and Blastenhoff which uses city water.
Schlitterbahn west has a home made feeling. There are mainly tube rides and body slides in this area.
Surfenburg has the first well known boogie wave know as the boogie bahn, and the very first up and down roller coaster like water ride known as the dragons revenge.
Blastenhoff has the water ride behemoth known as the Master Blaster and the Torrent.
My cousins and I have been coming here for a long time, and every time we see each other, we always say.."MAN! I CANT WAIT FOR SCHLITTERBAHN!"
oldy but not goody.
This place boast the best waterpark in the nation and it may be if you've never been to a clean water park. The green carpet lining every walkway may be nice for burning feet, but just a nasty infested waterlogged bacteria breeding ground for the rest of us. Aquarshoes are must. The waterpark looked old and was centered in a remote place on a hill. There was a lot of shade, which makes it cold for people keeping warm from being out of the water. The water was freezing in one section where the lake? feeds in. There are two sections where you must ride a crowded bus to get to the other, wait time of half and hour at least. This place was super crowded. Some people waited in line for hours for one ride. It doesn't compare to Schlitterbahn Galveston. The stream/river surrounding the park, isn't part of the park I believe.
The rides are great though. Lots and lots of rides. If you have to take a bus to two sections, than it's a mega park.
Good place to visit once if your an adventurer. For the rest looking to get some action in clean water, this isn't for you.
Central Texas is home to one of the country's top waterparks..
In Short
Schlitterbahn is 65 acres of waterpark mania located on the banks of the spring-fed Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas, and has a natural riverfront setting with something for people of all ages. From tube chutes, water slides and uphill water coasters, to pools, hot tubs, kiddie water playgrounds and picnic areas, it's no wonder the Travel Channel voted Schlitterbahn "America's Best Waterpark." The park also has year-round resort accommodations.
