Great, Authentic, Filipino Food. Coming from the West Coast which is loaded with Filipino establishments -- I wasn't expecting to find a great Filipino restaurant in San Antonio since the city is not that culturally/ethnically diverse. Since arriving I've found that the city doesn't have too much to offer in the area of world cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem in the city's extreme northeastern section.

From the outside it doesn't look like much -- its located on a small side street leading into an old neighborhood and is a corrugated steel building. Inside you will find a top-notch home-style-cooking Filipino buffet. The food is great!

The rumor is that the location and quality of the building will be corrected as well. I hear that in early July 2008 they will be moving to a bigger and better location.

There you have it folks.... for Filipino food in San Antonio, come to My Chock Dee, the absolute best!. I recently moved here from L.A., and the first thing I wanted to find in this city was a great filipino restaurant. Coming across a few filipinos in town, they suggested a few restaurants but told me this was the best. My husband and I had to try it out and were so happy we did! This place didn't look all that from the outside, but once you walk in, the restaurant is actually pretty nice inside. The selection and quality of the food is excellent, and I can say that it is just like any of the top Filipino restaurants found in California (such as Pinoy Pinay - yum!). Again, I was really impressed with the selection... it was more than plain old lumpia and pancit. They also had lots of desserts to choose from. I bought my parents there and they enjoyed it very much, too. Can't wait to bring the rest of my family to try out My Chock Dee. It rules!
