Less than one star. Voted #1? Only by people involved in running/owning the worst hamburger joint in Texas. When my son bit into his chicken sandwich he couldn’t! He handed it to me, I bit into it and found it too tuff to chew all the way through! It was like rubber. I took the meat out and flexed it back and fourth. It moved like a dog’s rubber bone. My hamburger meat was thin and overly chewy.

Great food & Atmosphere. I live in Dallas, but I have lots of family living in San Antonio & the surrounding areas. I visit as often as I can, and no trip is complete without a trip to Chester's. Personally, I love burgers. All kinds. This place is just good ol' fashioned grilled burgers & that's what I go there for. I also just found out that my fiance- from NC- also loves that place! Go there & nosh on the chili-cheese hamburger & relax afterwards with a long walk- you'll be full!!

Avoid, food has suddenly turned bad. French Fries were highly greasy and over cooked

Hamburger greasy and sloppy

Left all food and walked out

Not bad. I thought the burgers were good, but cetainly not the best in town (So far that honor is going to Chris Madrid's). Chesters had a good atmosphere and good prices. Tried the Onion rings instead of fries and they were good, but no Clear Springs Cafe. Huge selection of beers with several big screen tv's. Certainly nothing wrong with enjoying a Chesters Burger for lunch.

Yummy Old Fashioned Burgers.. This was your average everyday looking restaurant, but the food inside was above average. For about 6 bucks you can eat really good here, and it is comfortable and the food is good. The bacon cheese burgers are huge and juicy, and the poppy seed buns are a great addition. The homemade french fries are also wonderful. I usually don't like homemade fries because they tend to be soggy, but these fries were crunchy and full of flavor. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone that just wants to go out with the family or friends, relax, maybe even have a beer or two, and enjoy a good burger.
