If you need help they will help you

I have know several addicts in my life, but the saddest was my stepdad. He was one of the best and most screwed up men I have ever know, I do know that the only place he was able to function as a normal person (a very tired, but normal person) was at H.O.W. Every time that he fell off of the wagon one phone call & they would take him back. I have recommended this place to several people over the years and I have been overjoyed to see that it has worked for some, it all comes down to how much you want help & what you are willing to give up.
God speed,
Megan B.
H.O.W. follows through on contract promise.

After an initial glitch in starting my yard clean-up on Monday, management was able to come up with a satisfactory plan to ensure completion as promised. The two guys, sent to my home in the Highlands at Woodlake sub-division, arrived about 1000 Wednesday morning as agreed, and after a tour of my property to describe the work intended, they got to it. In around two hours they had completed the contracted work to my satisfaction. I thanked them for the fine job they had done and report same to their supervisor back at the shop. The job was over priced by about $100, but upon considering all the money went to a good cause.

I was also at the H.O.W Foundation. The place is a joke and YOU DO NOT GET WHAT YOU NEED I have been Clean for four years! Not because of the H.O.W because of the STAR OF HOPE in houston ! They Steal money ! AND THEY DO treat people of color like it is the 1950's As far as tree i would give them a D+ . I also say if you are an addict and TRULY want to get SOBER and want to stay Sober FIND SOME PLACE ELSE ! No matter what Color you are!
You Get What You Need

As a former resident of the How Foundation, you need to know some things. I went to them not only once, but three times. That's right, my addiction was that bad, but when I called they came for me. We worked hard, idle minds go to bad places. You need to realize that everyone there is a recovering addict, even Walter (Buddy) Teague. Every institution has problems, for the How to the US Government, but we make it work. At the time I was there, we supported 30-50 addicts keeping their minds off the things that brought them there. Some people leave with a bad taste in their mouths, I know, I did 2 times. The moral of the story is I sobered up, now 5+ years from meth and cocaine. I cannot give enough gratitude to the How Foundation, they helped to save my life. They also provide great services to the surrounding communities, and those who use their services are saints even though they may not know it. As far as a comment I read earlier of someone who said people of color are treated unfairly, put down the pipe and realize drugs are not prejiduce. Know that I have 5+ years and that I have to work at this everyday. I no longer blame others for my actions, I now face them and deal with them with dope to hide them. HOW is a great place and I will always stand by that.
