Great place to take your dogs.. I found this place a few months ago when I moved to this neighbourhood. I needed to find a new vets for my dog. I have to say this is the best vets I have ever taken my dog to. The vet and nurse are very thoughtful and helpful. My dog had a back problem and I was very worried. The vets checked where she is hurting very gently while the nurse was holding her. She always shakes badly around new people, especially in the vets, but she was fine. It was because they both treated my dog like their own dog. I really thank them for that. I highly recommend you to take your dog if you are looking for good vets. Saturdays are always busy. You need to make an appointment before you go, but it is definitely worth it. My dog is better now and she is running around again.

BEWARE OF FREDRICKSBURG ROAD ANIMAL VET CLINIC! RIP OFFS AND RUDE STAFF! They DON'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS!. I have been taking my animals to this clinic for years, and haven't had any major problems with them. But, since the past two years, things have taken a turn for the worse! The staff is quite rude and careless. If you ask them a simple question, they're incapable or lack the intelligence to assist you. They place you on hold, and then hang up on you! I requested them to fax my dogs' medical records to a boarding facility, and they neved did! I had to call repeatedly for them to just perform this simple task. I was harassed and threatened by their staff members, and was rudely hanged up on because I commented on their unprofessional behavior. They simple don't care what's going on with your animals! The last time I was there, I took my pet because he had an infection. We arrived 10 minutes ahead of our appointmet, and we had to wait 45 minutes PAST our original appointment to get seen. The vets are quite rude as well. When I questioned and was making comments about why we had to wait so long to get seen, the vet got visibly upset at my comments. He came towards me as if to attack me, and threatened to have me escorted by the police. He told me, "Well, if you don't like it, you can take your dog elsewhere." My dog was suffering from a severe infection, and at this point, I just wanted him to get help. So, I bit my tongue, and let the vet continue on with the examination. He prescribed some antibiotic, and I gave the medication as directed. But, my dog still has the same infection! So, I call up the vet clinic again, and told them that my dog hasn't gotten any better. They said they will have to CHARGE ME ANOTHER VISITING FEE to check the same problem that they didn't fix in the first place! Talk about rip-off! I went back, and they just gave me the SAME MEDICINE that didn't work before, and told me to give it again. Why would a medicine that didn't work the first time, would work now? I now know that I was just been given the run around, and was being ripped off!

Your Four-legged Family Member Deserves Much Better. We recently took our newest addition to this facility where she was diagnosed with Parvo. She had received her first set of boosters the day before we rescued her. She was 3lbs & 7 wks old. Initially the visit was pleasant, aside from being told that our baby had a life threatening puppy killing virus. We decided to bring her home & explore other possibilities. 1 1/2 hrs later we decided we should take her back & start treatments. Upon calling I left a msg for the same Dr that examined her to call back. 2 hrs passed & I was concerned. I called back & admit I raised my voice at the girl that ans'd. She said that the Dr was lunch & wouldn't return for 1hr. She then told me that she didnt need to listen to me in this upset state & hung up. I called back & was immediately put on hold for 6 min. I hung up & called back & again placed on hold for 4 min. I only wanted to find out if my other dog, already having all his shots, needed a booster as he had been in direct contact w/ the new puppy; I also wanted to find out when the Dr was going to be back in so we could take her back. The last time I called I finally got her to stay on the line & she said that my other dog didn't need a booster since he had rec'd his shots. NOT TRUE He did need it & this I heard from 2 other vets. I asked for the off. mgrs name & she too was at lunch. She proceeded to raise her voice at me & say "if you want to call back & complain call back after 2" then hung up on me again. Our baby is now dead, she passed away Mon 8/6/07 even after being treated at another vet. The bottom line is; if you desire empathy, concern & professionalism for your baby DO NOT go here. Aside from that our other baby could have easily died as the "receptionist" likes to give incorrect info that could be potentially deadly to your pet. For the sake of your four-legged family member don't go thru what we had to go thru here. It's a shame that even in an emotional time like this we did not get any sympathy or concern.
