Dr. Lowe is the best vet we have ever seen. She saved my French Brittany, Luc, after he was bitten by a rattle snake and was 100% accurate in preparing me for all the recovery stages. Her care is not only professionally the best but also the most animal (and human) sensitive. My ranch rescue dog, Buddy, loves her. Buddy was a feral dog and people have to earn his trust and yet he wants to lick Dr. Lowe every time he sees her. Negative reviews on this site can not be true relative to Dr. Lowe and her staff.
I agree that they do a great job, all obviously really love animals. Dr. Lowe and staff really do seem to love what they do and it shows. Took great care of dog we're considering keeping.... a stray. The dog must sense that I'm not sure of if I can take him in right now and all there were so great, I think he almost didn't want to leave when we were getting in the car....
I am not sure what was going on when all those older reviews were written, but I definitely agree with the more recent ones (where the reviewer could spell) that this place is awesome. I was seen on time and Dr. Lowe was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. I'll be bringing all of my pets here forever.
I rarely write reviews but due to the outstanding care I have received at TVH Fred Road I felt I HAD to speak up. Dr. Liz Lowe is one of the best vets I have ever dealt with in my 30 years and 12 dogs/6 cats of pet ownership. She is easy to talk to inspire of her obvious intelligence (heard through the grapevine she was 1st in her class at Tufts). She also has extensive experience in emergency medicine. She and her staff have stayed after hours and worked through lunch many times...and NOT just for my animals. I recommend them without reservations.
Great Care, Friendly Staff. I'm not sure why many of the other reviewers had such bad experiences because mine was much different. I recently moved here from Corpus and have been looking for a good vet - I think I've found her. I visited the Becker Animal Hospital previously and didn't care for the mass production animal care at all. But my visit to Fredericksburg Rd AH was great! I was seen quickly and I just loved Dr. Lowe - she was very attentive, caring and even funny. The staff was very polite. I will definitely go back.
Dr Lowe lunch, was way to important to see our dog Dolly. This is something you pet lovers NEED!! to no. JD and myself went home for lunch and as I open the door Dolly our dog was on the floor, wet with pee, could not get up and was just in so much pain that when I tried to pick her up she bit me. Dolly has been part of our family for almost 13 years and she has never done that. Poor thing was just in so much pain, she just keep looking at me. will we rushed her (Dolly) to Texas Veterinary Hospital on 3493 Federickburg Road 210-732-1981. I told the receptions what was going on, she took our information, and then said take a seat because the veterinary was in the lunch room and it would be about one hour, I looked at her and side she cant event get up and is in so much pain can you just let the veterinary no, Please!!, She open the door to let her no what was going on, and out loud she said no! I'm taking my lunch, tell them I will be done in about 45 minuets, REALLY your there to help our little baby, I don't think they care,, this is a hospital!!! Stop what your doing and look at are dog. You need to repose and let everybody no how they treat your animals, and by the Way the veterinary name is DR LOWE , And we were they only ones there.
Leave this place & go to Callaghan Rd. Animal Hospital.
Dr. Eduardo Guevara is no longer at Fredericksburg Rd. - he opened up his own hospital with Dr. Jennifer Evans at Callaghan Road Animal Hospital 5739 Callaghan Rd, Suite 101, San Antonio, Tx (210) 647-1101
It took me forever to find any information on where Dr. Guevara went, the Fredericksburg Rd. clinic refused to tell me so I had to do some digging on my own. I found him at his own practice with Dr. Evans on Callaghan Rd. It is very nice and I'm so glad I found his office finally! I would NEVER take my pets back to TVH.
TVH. I disagree coming from a professional stand point if your pet has an emergency then it needs to be seen at an emergency clinic. Same as people. I am sure the staff there takes much pride in their job and caring for animals so when you say this vet is 3rd rate then maybe you don't understand what it takes to really care for a pet. The staff and the doctors at this clinic are great and very friendly including the African American girl. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Take your pets and RUN from this place FAST!!!. We had been taking our animals to Fred Road Animal Hospital for 20 years! Since it was a small very pet friendly place run by Dr Granberry. He was an awesome man and you could tell he truely loved animals. Then he moved to a larger hospital down the street on Fred Road. The place was beautiful, clean, and very professionally run and Dr Granberry was the same loving, gentle and kind doctor. Unfortunately, all good things must end...Dr Granberry retired this past year...and guess what?? A large company bought the place and took all his customers who thought nothing had changed except for the owners..WRONG!!! The place is now legally owned by Texas veterinary Hospitals and nothing is the same...The prices have doubled! The waiting is atrocious because of all the people waiting!! The service is 3rd rate and the vets want to charge you for everything even if your animal doesn't need it. They charge you for a wellness exam even if you don't want it and won't give any service without it...even if you just need a rabie shot.OH, aqnd don't try and bring your aqnimal in for an emergency!! we tried and were told just to take it to an emergency clinic. We personally saw a man come in with his injuered and dying dog and was told that he needed an appointment!! Can you believe it!! But you know what the worst thing is? The staff!!!!! They are RUDE and very curt and downright obnoxious, esp. this one African American girl...she is the worst!! We have heard and read many complaints about the staff . We could go on and on about this horrible place..but we know that we will never bring our animals there again...Hey...take them to Affordable Pet Care on Basse Rd...half the price and no rudeness...
Unprofessional. I had a VERY similar experience as the review two below me. I was trying to arrange for surgery for a dog but had a question and the office manager was always "unavailable" or "out to lunch" or "not in" . Once I tried to talk to the vet and never got him either. Two weeks/5 phone calls later still no return call and took my business to another vet who was super and did the surgery. My finding this other vet was the only silver-lining. Unbelieveably unprofessional. They are pricey too.
