Very kind and helpful staff. I enjoy the workers also the doctors on staff. Very helpful in answering questions and concerns.
Horrible experience!.
My parakeets, my husband and I had a horrible experience in that place.
I took one of my budgies to see a doctor and she ended up
in worse shape. The doctors available are not specialists
except a few and I believe the animals are not well diagnosed. The doctor that saw my budgie did not give her a medication for her injuries but for something else instead .She returned home with me and was extremely stressed out,the following day she collapsed and barely could breathe. She was very sick and the doctor had told me that she was fine. On top of that, the noise of the animals barking is very annoying and the receptionists there don't do anything about it. Dr. Becker is the only good doctor there and he most of the time is not there I guess to not worry about what happens in his clinic.
The staff is full of receptionists that don't seem to be aware of what is happening and they put you to wait endless hours. I waited 2 hours and 10 minutes. Plus some of the chairs of the consultation rooms are very dirty and
some have animal hair and animal stuff. Not a clean place at all.
Don't take your pets at all to this place unless you are going to be seen by Dr. Becker himself otherwise don't go there.
Satisfied customer. I've been a loyal customer for over a decade and their dedicated and kind treament of my best friend has served us well.
My dead dog... they killed her.
Run AWAY from here!!!! RUN RUN. Locals know this place is bad, unfortunately i am new,
I took my 9 month old lab to be spayed. she was healthy as a horse, and had been to becker since she was 5 weeks old. in at 830 am, DEAD by 930 pm. we got a call she was out at 630pm and she was doing great!! up and around, and they were giving her pain meds... the usual i would guess. 2 hours later she was DEAD. No explanation, nothing. maybe it was her haert they said. I can only assume this was checked pre and post surgery, and since she was up and around.....I have no idea what they gave her, and they are not explaining either. Juding by what i have seen lately, they have has issues in the past, and they seem to be having more issues now. I am still waiting on a call with an explanation, and maybe someone to look me in the eye, They screwed up and they know it!!!! dear dr becker, noone has called us back or returned emails, avoidance will not make this go away, she was part of our family!!!!!
wrost hospital ever. So I just took my Yorkie and they were going to let him die because according to them there was nothing to do came out with a 205.00 dollar bill and to my yorkie somewhere else and know he is doing great so if you really love your pet PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR PET THERE THEY WILL KILL THEM :(
Great doctor at Becker Animal Hospital.
I want to commend Dr. Adam Carter for his excellent customer service and care of our pet "Bear" on Feb.19, 2012.
We had seen Dr. Sarah P. on the 18th and both she and I agreed to a conservative approach to care and to continue to observe Bear and the injury and treated for his pain. When his condition worsened overnight we brought him back to clinic and were introduced to Dr. Carter. He thoroughly explained the steps needed to properly diagnose the changing condition and referred us to STVS for a surgical consult. In addition to the referral, he treated Bear's pain by injection and prescribed additional pain control meds. Just knowing our friend wasn't hurting helped immensely.
I felt Bear was in extremely capable hands under Dr. Carter's care. His ability to discern a need for further specialty treatment only enhanced our overall satisfaction with the care rendered.
Thank you again for your kindness and professionalism Dr. Carter.
Kind and thoughtful - free vaccinations.
Becker Animal Hospital brought a free vaccination event to our South Side neighborhood on Feb. 18, and gave my two dogs rabies and distemper shots at no charge. I almost didn't go that morning because it was cold and drizzly, pretty miserable. Some left because they assumed it would be cancelled. But the folks from the vet hospital pulled up, started unloading boxes and tables, and got things going like clockwork. Dr. Becker himself examined every pet before giving the free shots, asking about the names and answering questions. He didn't rush us and let us get all sorts of advice free. I was very happy the way he treated people and their dogs, and made a sincere connection.
I see many people complaining about vets being only interested in money, etc, so I was very impressed with how the Becker Animal Hospital team focused on just caring for the pets and owners with no money involved. If they do this great a job free under miserable conditions, I'm definitely taking my pets for more care to their hospital.
NOT WORTH THE RISK!!!!!!. I just moved to SA 7 months ago from sugar land tx(left a very good vet behind) my dog is my life he is my family member and best hunting buddy a guy could ask for.....i have over 16,000$ invested in him so i give him the best care possible....so i thought....the first time i took him in he had a stomach bug....Becker animal hospital charged me 550$...the next day after the visit i just wanted to see the price difference between the vets so gave the vet in sugar land a call...gave them the names of meds Becker prescribed and found out i was over charged by 295$(yes dog did get better)...2nd visit was just for bath an flea dip...picked him up 7 hours later to find right eye bloodshot....that night he woke me up with a bad cough....took him back to becker 2 days later because cough got worse....vet came in looked down his throat said he had a throat infection but wanted to take x-rays...i asked x-rays for what if you are sure it is the throat??...his reply 'just to make sure' i asked make sure of what?? his response '......' no response to question just said that we can try the meds.....his assistant came back in with meds...charge was going to be over 300$...i asked why i was being charged for this visit again since he got sick 9 hours after i picked him up from this establishment....so she took off exam fee still walked out paying 168$ for visit....the cough my dog had is still not gone and now more things have started going on...i am taking the rest of the week off to head back to sugar land to a vet that cares about the animals and not my wallet....I AM NOT HAPPY AND LET THE VET KNOW THAT I WOULD BLOG....
Best place to take your beloved pets!.
A fabulous job! I brought my dog, Missy, to your clinic on an emergency basis a few months ago. The service then was so excellent that I have now selected Becker Animal Hospital for the treatment of my dog. Your friendly staff and lovely facility will keep us coming back.
Keep up the great work!
Please, I'm begging you, don't bring your babies here....
I definitely DO NOT recommend this veterinarian.
First, they gave us the absolutely wrong dose of Phenobarbital for our Frenchie Pug's epilepsy, then we gave in and gave them one last chance ... the opportunity to neuter the same dog they almost killed with the bad dose of medication.
Bad decision on our part.
They called us only three hours later, and informed us of the death of our dog. How do you botch a neutering?! You know what happened? His heart rate lowered immensely. They gave him epinefrin, and his heart rate went back up. Now, instead of putting down the knife and calling us, saying "Hey, we can't do the operation, he's reacting badly to the anesthetics." No. They went back into the surgery. And his heart rate dropped. This time, they couldn't bring him back. They murdered my baby, regardless of whether it was an accident or not. That boy was devoted to us. He was so scared of being dropped off in places for fear that we'd never come back. Now we can't come back for him. Because he's dead. His life was in their hands, and they murdered him. If I were you, I'd never take your pet here. EVER. We are DEFINITELY filing a lawsuit against them.
PS; The doctor was Dr Youssef.
When we returned in person to say our goodbyes to my poor little baby boy, the first words from his mouth were "Don't blame me! It wasn't my fault."
He never apologized for our loss. Nothing.
The only nice person in that entire building is the nurse Sonia. She has glasses, air in a ponytail, and a sort of sun-scarred face. She's wonderful. She was so sorry and promised to get us a private cremation and a beautiful urn for free.
Trouble is ... Georgie (the puppy) was three years old. We weren't supposed to need an urn at all.
If I could go back in time, I wouldn't even GET him neutered.
