I love Garcia's! My husband and in laws have been eating there for 30 years and it has been one of my faves since I was introduced about 5 years ago. We go for their breakfast and always get the chilaquiles. I like them crispy with cheese and my husband likes them original without cheese. Their ranchero sauce is the best!! Its warm and made fresh every day.
- Pros: ranchero sauce, great food, inexpensive, great staff
- Cons: small seating area, outdoor restrooms, crowded
Awesome Carne Guisada!

My grandparents lived in San Antonio for over 30 years, and this is one restaurant that we ALWAYS went to when we visited. In fact, last week we went two days in a row, it is just that good. It is small and you may have to wait to get a table but the food comes out fast, hot and delicious. We always order the Garcia's Special with carne guisada. It is the best! And you can have as many flour tortillas as you want. Though they won't give you the recipe, you can buy the carne guisada by the pint (and I think maybe by the gallon) to take home with you. It is well worth it. I love that they still sell their sodas in bottles. We always make sure to get Big Red since it's not available where I currently live, in Arizona. The restaurant isn't much to look at but I like that it has had pretty much the same things on the walls since I can remember and the same family is still running it. The quality is never low at Garcia's.
- Pros: food, value
- Cons: parking

For a mexican restaurant the got the best variety in town. The hamburgers and chicken fried steak are the best. Best carne guisada and carne de puerco in town.
- Pros: inexpensive, crowded, food
- Cons: ambiance
