Garcia's Mexican Food To Go – EVERYTHING is delicious here and homemade, their daily specials are excellent... I especially love Wednesday's special which is Fideo!!! Awesomeeee!!! brisket tacos and carne guisada tacos are excellent, chips and queso are veryyy good!!! They have a variety of food all of which is excellent...it's a must that you try GARCIA'S!!!!!
The World's Best Carna Guisada – Our family has eaten at Garcia's for more than 35 years. It is the best mexican food ANYWHERE. I've tried Carna Guisada at many restaurants in many states and no where even comes close to Garicia's. I have not lived in San Antonio for a long time but I make several annual trips there just to visit Garcia's I typically take home 10 - 20 quarts of the carna guisada to hold me over until the next trip. I'll be there again this Friday. Treat yourself and try the carna guisada and their enchiladas..if taste has a place in heaven-it's called Garcia's.
Wonderful breakfast – I love Garcia's! My husband and in laws have been eating there for 30 years and it has been one of my faves since I was introduced about 5 years ago. We go for their breakfast and always get the chilaquiles. I like them crispy with cheese and my husband likes them original without cheese. Their ranchero sauce is the best!! Its warm and made fresh every day.
Awesome Carne Guisada! – My grandparents lived in San Antonio for over 30 years, and this is one restaurant that we ALWAYS went to when we visited. In fact, last week we went two days in a row, it is just that good. It is small and you may have to wait to get a table but the food comes out fast, hot and delicious. We always order the Garcia's Special with carne guisada. It is the best! And you can have as many flour tortillas as you want. Though they won't give you the recipe, you can buy the carne guisada by the pint (and I think maybe by the gallon) to take home with you. It is well worth it. I love that they still sell their sodas in bottles. We always make sure to get Big Red since it's not available where I currently live, in Arizona. The restaurant isn't much to look at but I like that it has had pretty much the same things on the walls since I can remember and the same family is still running it. The quality is never low at Garcia's.
jag – For a mexican restaurant the got the best variety in town. The hamburgers and chicken fried steak are the best. Best carne guisada and carne de puerco in town.
