Only in Texas would a bar have the audacity to call itself an Irish pub, yet belt country music from the jukebox.. Live Tunes
Apparently, the paradox doesn't seem to bother Bunratty clientele, an interesting mix of low-key locals and UTSA students who come for the pool. Wood-panneled and extremely dim, the pub fills its two small rooms with smoke, tunes and the lovely sound of the cue ball making contact. Occasional live music is produced from cowboy-hatted guitar pickers in a dusky corner and, even more occasionally, audience participation is tolerated.

Vinyl is Better
When the band shuts down for the evening, however, the jukebox is fired up again at full steam-but have no fear, upon closer inspection some unexpected vinyl selections are revealed. Look hard for the Jim Croce and Nat King Cole when the honky-tonk gets too hoky. Beverages follow the normal fare; beer and mixed drinks are available at very affordable prices, but beware the mysterious hot dog buffet which eerily surfaces from time to time next to the two pool tables.
