What People Are Saying About Cadillac Bar

The Scene – With simple furniture and decor and a long, hardwood bar, this place screams "Texas." You'll probably find some folks drinking beer with their lunch, but not of the sandals-and-black-socks (aka tourists) variety. A block from the courthouse, Cadillac patrons, more often than not, tend to be lawyers and city officials who come for the ale and the patio out back, one perfect for those pleasant Texas evenings. Although the spot seems designed for longneck drinking, Cadillac also offers a full bar. It's more of a hang-out than anything else, although live music…
Editor's Tips
- Speaking of Politicians:
- Within walking distance is the old Spanish Governor's Palace, a CitySearch nominee for best historic site.
- Dress Like a True Local:
- Paris Hatters is another downtown institution. Walk in and get fitted for an Open Road Stetson, favorite among lawyers and politicians—LBJ shaded his head with one.
Most Comforting Place Ever

As a regular at Cadillac Bar this bar has great deals and wonderful food. I have never had any problems and the bartenders are great and fast and always tend to your needs. If your looking for a good place to have a party and listen to some awesome music/bands this is the spot, it screams Texas and the history of Texas. The owner is a great person and treats everyone the same and is always there unlike most places where the owner is out of site or not there. I recommend this place to anyone that has a loose personality and isn't stuck up and likes to try new things.

We had our Wedding
reception here
,we had paid for there DJ and he was playing what there regular customers liked. After WE HAD PAYED FOR HIM to play! People who where not in our wedding party were taking over the tables that were for our wedding guest! Never again, AND I would not recommend this place to anyone. The following day we had a get together and all the guest complained about there service, and the way there customers were taking over! If you do rent this place make sure you sit down and talk to Jesse, and not anyone else. Make sure you do get it in writing!!! My nephew had even booked there wedding here, but since they saw what had happened @ mine, they canceled and have found a new place....
Cadillac Bar in San Antonio

My wife is from San Antonio and this was our first experience at this place. I actually made reservations back in June for my wife's birthday party, we placed a deposit, picked out the linens and selected the area recommended. In August, we called 3 different cell numbers and eventually a day or 2 later we would get a response confirming our reservation. We selected food from their catering list and thought it was a done deal....We get there at 7:00p.m. party starts at 7:30p.m.
We were so wronged because when we arrive there is a political party rally going on, we can see someone has taken our reserved area, and when we ask for the manager the response is "I am just the waiter here" The waiters could barely speak English, and it took us 5 times to ask about our reservation before we could finally speak to the manager. He reassures us they are in the process of getting our tables and gives us two beers because now we are waiting 40 minutes. They finally ask people to move from tables, and organize our party, linens, and we had to wait another 30 minutes for the food to be placed buffet style by our table. Party finally starts about 8:30p.m. and drinks are cold, waitresses are prompt with our drink orders. The folks sitting behind us started eating our food, my wife had to advised them the food was for a catered event. By this time I am so done with the crappy food and reservation experience. They have a band start at 10:00p.m. and it is time to go home because your seats are vibrating from the 8 foot speakers sitting next to our table. When it came time to pay the tab we had to remind them we had a deposit which is supposed to be applied to our balance. We had to wait another 20 minutes to pay our beer tab, and when we were leaving the other party that took our tables originally were eating our left overs. Folks it doesn't get any worse than this and you can say that we are never stepping inside of this establishment again. Huge disappointment and I will be telling all of our friends to not visit this establishment. There are no PROs only CONs at this place....
Great Place for Drinks

We visited Tuesday July 13, and parked in their free lot next door. This place is classic Texas. Very friendly bartender and great inexpensive drinks. Enjoyed it very much and the Ramos' Gin Fizz's were outstanding.
- Pros: Atmosphere and Cheap Drinks
- Cons: Patio Could Use a Cleaning
CROOKS BY THE COURTHOUSE

My family and I reserved space there for a special event but when we arrived the tables were given to another party. After trying to get the owner/manager out of the kitchen for 15 minutes the only thing that was offered was an 80 dollar tab for 18 people. The bar pretty much took the money for the reservation of $100 dollars and only provided 4 tables with 8 chairs. The money was also supposed to be for the nice table linens which were never provided. If the establishment knew anything about customer satisfaction a full refund would have been given and a credit for drinks would have been given as well. The manager and staff were walking around the rest of the night smiling and laughing, which we think were partially at our expense. Granted this place was recommended by a family friend but in my opinion, if you are planning a special event, don't choose this rinky dink bar because they do not know anything about the hospitality business.
P.s. The one star rating is there only because the sytem requires at least one star for comment to be published.
- Pros: cold beer..but who cant refrigerate beer?
- Cons: where do i start
