Editorial Review for Cadillac Bar & Restaurant – by Judd Maroney
The Scene
With simple furniture and decor and a long, hardwood bar, this place screams "Texas." You'll probably find some folks drinking beer with their lunch, but not of the sandals-and-black-socks (aka tourists) variety. A block from the courthouse, Cadillac patrons, more often than not, tend to be lawyers and city officials who come for the ale and the patio out back, one perfect for those pleasant Texas evenings. Although the spot seems designed for longneck drinking, Cadillac also offers a full bar. It's more of a hang-out than anything else, although live music occasionally pops up on the weekends.
The Food
As far as eating, Cadillac has the good stuff covered: Tex-Mex, steaks and seafood. Monday through Friday features a decent Tex-Mex buffet, but ordering off the menu is still an option. For late-evening munchies, Cadillac offers appetizers, burgers and the like.

Great place to meet after work for drinks. Fantastic place to go to on Friday nights. Various bands play with music for everyone. Great D.J.! Small dance floor though, other than that, it's lots of fun and great place to meet people and celebrate a birthday!!
Pros: Great place for dancing on a Friday nite
Cons: Small dance floor

I don't know that it warrants 4.5 stars - but this is a great place for an afterwork drink downtown - away from the tourists and tourist prices. Bands, Beer, Friends and fun. If you're a real San Antonioan / Texan - the sound of your boots (or shoes) on the wood floor when you walk in let you know you're in the right place. Very recommended.
Pros: Very good afterwork spot
Cons: Music is loud - but there is a patio
