great alternative to downtown!. First Fridays in Southtown are great and nowhere is more fun than the Blue Star. Walk through artists' spaces, chat, drink, look at art and listen to music!

Creative instigator and innovator of all local things art-oriented.. Overview
The hub of the Blue Star Arts Complex, the Blue Star Art Space also serves as a mecca for the monthly First Friday pilgrimage down South Alamo. At the southernmost tip of the arts trail, Blue Star has been polishing and presenting local contemporary art since its founding in 1985.

Facts
The nonprofit, non-collecting locale strives to continue the formation of San Antonio as a cultural hot spot, with artwork to back up the claim. Introduced in 1995-96, site-specific installations sponsored by the art space are also intended to encourage the city's imagination and art community.
