Pleasantly surprised..
We were a little hesistant to eat here, especially after our experience with other RiverWalk eateries.
However, we were seated promptly, the mango mojito was excellent. the waiter was very nice.
The crabcake sandwich was tasty, and my wife and I shared the Bananas Foster.
Overall, our best dining experience overall on the Riverwalk.

Ruined our evening.
Wow, my husband and I were very disappointed after going to Landry's one Saturday for a late-night meal. The hostess lacked refinement, but it was OK. We sat down, waited for about 10 minutes, and our waiter came. He was the worst we have ever experienced! Fom his serving mamer, to his abruptness, to his lack of knowledge on how to handle food and pour drinks, it was just a spectacle. I couldn't believe we were receiving such treatment in a nice restaurant. We were stunned and will obvisouly never go back. We complained to the manager who was very nice. There are just too many places to eat in San Antonio to waste our precious time on being treated so poorly. Oh, and my husband's salmon was burnt on the bottom and dry. We also got the wrong side dish. Embarassing!

Bad Customer service.
Landy's is over priced for the quality of food and service, but the customer service from both the store and their corporate office left me with a new sense of humility. I once thought that even one person mattered and could be heard. I find that they are into policy and not people, and into custom and not customers. One of their managers took my credit card home by mistake and then was out of touch for two days while my vacation to San Antonio was being ruined. When I contacted the corporate office I was put off and ignored until I was at the end of vacation and on a flight home. I was told that the restaurant was busy runnig a business and my problem was just an inconvience for me.
I now see that at least with Landry's and corporation, customers and people do not matter even when they ask for emergency help. The help they finally gave me was to offer to cancel my credit card for me, even when they had it in their hands and could have securely mailed it to me.
One customer does not matter to a corporation or a machine. One customer does not matter to Landry's or its people. I am sure that I do not, and I am sure that you do not as well.
You decide if this is the type of place to support or not.

WOW.
I was in San Antonio this week, and ate at Landry's last night with some friends. This was BY FAR the best experience i had all week. The service was excellent. Let me tell you, the garlic bread is heavenly.....Everyone at the table absolutely loved their meals. It was GREAT. I will go back.

What a dump!!.
My husband and i dined here twice. once we made the mistake of going out a weekend when a lot of christmas parties were going on and i think there were a couple going on in the restaurant that night even. So the first time we thought- we'll try it again another time. Oh well we were not changed on our opinions. The food is WAY over priced for quality...im laughing even using that word. The food is seriously awful here-both times we went. It does have great decor and feel to it. But both times our servers seemed like they were either new, or didnt know what was going on. Do not go here!! Actually the second time when we walked out, we saw 3 people (who we found out were tourists) looking at the menu and walked them to a better restaurant a few blocks away!!

Looking for.
Yes, the restaurant has its romantic ambiance Riverwalk feeling, live band and cozy tables, but if your food palate craves authentic "Blackened" seafood, go elsewhere my friend...go elsewhere.
Having been in a number of restaurants that offer blackened fish - to include restaurants on New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street and French Quarters - Landry's Seafood House, at the Riverwalk, San Antonio, Texas, is by far the worst yet; and don't attempt to send the dish back. I mistakenly did so and had it returned to me with the comment, "The Chef assures me that the fish has been blackened." As all of us at the table stared down at a fish fillet whiter than a child dressed as a ghost for Halloween. The waiter, obviously not too concerned with our reaction, or perhaps having heard this before from the Chef, merely left. Never to return again; that is...until the bill arrived.
So, if you're looking for that New Orleans blackened fish taste, you won't find it at Landry's Seafood House - Riverwalk.

Below Adequate - At Best.
Very disappointing. Nothing close to 5 star. Went for early dinner. Table good. Hostess & Bartender pleasant, Waitperson not. Tried to add items for us even after we said no - several times. Unimpressive - forgot items - fastest service was to pick-up our credit card and return for signed copy. No napkin to hold bread while cutting and no knife to cut it. Salad average. Fish good. Steak so-so. Desserts good. Didn't take dirty dishes away. We spent $115 - 2 adults, 2 year old daughter. Included one $7.50 glass of champagne, iced tea, tuna, sirloin steak, pasta $3.50, child's fish, crème brulee, bananas foster, 2 coffees, and tip. Coffee cream was brought in little plastic containers like the gas station. At $115 how ridiculous is that? We are not table campers. Next time I think I would go to McDonalds and use the money saved on something else...

Cajun-flavored restaurant turns out seafood favorites that keep the crowds happy..
In Short
This high-profile seafood chain features interior design that is a studied blend of faux French Quarter formality and bait camp casualness that accommodates a wide range of diners. Start with gumbo, salad or appetizers ranging from oysters to boiled shrimp. Broiled, grilled and fried seafood entrees include crab, fish and shrimp. For non-seafood lovers, there are a variety of steak, chicken and pasta options.

Landry's Close to a 5-Star Dining Experience.
I read a 2003 review on this restaurant and realized I needed to update others on what a great restaurant this is.
Landry's is close to a 5-Star dining experience on the Riverwalk. The 2003 review was writtin when then restaurant was in a different location. This new location on Presa is incredible. It is unlike any other Landry's you have visited. The staff is attentive. Almost overly attentive. The wine list is just awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant.
