You better have a sense of Humor!!!. D1ck's Last Resort was the last place I wanted to spend my husband and my first romantic dinner in San Antonio, but was very surprised. They had a live band that played some pretty good music, some great food and great drinks. It is definatley, not a romantic place, but if you have a good sense of humor, you can take the jokes that the waiters throw at you and the unique hats they make out of paper for you to wear with your own personal saying(not appropriate for children) you will have a great time. And be sure to ask for some extra napkins, they have a unique way of getting them to you. I won't tell you the details, you will just have to find out for yourself!
Best Time. I went with my NHS group and we had a blast....when we were 1st goin in i though man these people are rude...but then i learned thats the point!! we were laughing and joking the whole time and it was never a dull moment...the only bad thing was the price of the food and our tip for 16 people was $45....but if you dont have a good sense of humor stay away!! but for all of you that actuallylike 2 have a good time GO have a ball!! great for bachlorette parties....there were about 3 or 4 parties there while we were there...and they looked like they all had a blast....i know i did!!
if you come here, you have to play along. brought my nephew for airman graduation fun and we did. waiter was under control and knew when to not goof off. food was delicious. you have to have an open mind for this place because it is different. wait staff very friendly to all in attendance
Avoid this Restaurant when Mr. Watkiers is managing!!!. The manager, Mr. Watkiers, doesn't care about customers. It's fun to be harassed inside the restaurant, but when it is carried outside, in front of tourists, children, etc. by one of the waiters, it's not funny anymore. My nephew who was visiting from another state has a bad opinion of Texas because of how the manager chose to handle this. A police officer was standing nearby and heard everything the waiter said and went back to the restaurant to talk to the waiter about his bad language and attitude in public. The manager just laughed about it. If San Antonio depends on tourism the way this manager, Mr. Watkiers, handles customers, it gives Texas a bad name. In short, AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!!
Good Times ! !. I would highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a good time while in a great atmosphere. The wait staff was great at keeping us entertained. And they kept the cold beer and napkins flowing for the whole night while we were present! I am going to plan on making multiple trips back to see this crew again!! I loved every minute of my experience there!! Thanks so much!
It was fun.. We went to dicks during lunch the hamburgers tasted great and they were huge! I went during dinner and it wasnt as good. But it was still fun!
Lively riverfront spot for good food, group dining, bachelorette parties and fun times..
In Short
This lively restaurant and bar is always festive and fun. Bartenders and waitstaff add to the experience with their flair for entertaining service, while the menu of nachos, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fresh salads, barbecue and desserts satisfies a wide range of diners. The clientele is varied, televisions are plentiful and the beer selection is excellent. There's even a menu of specialty cocktails, which can help to keep the party going.
Grumpy old man. Our waitress was pleasantly rude and playful. The drinks were plentiful. The portions of food were not as large as one would expect from the menu, but certainly adequate. This is a very loud restaurant on the outside. Good gathering meal with friends but would not impress a business client.
~The Best Time Ever~. My friends and I went to this restaurant on the River Walk and we had a total blast.. It was so much fun and the people were so rude it was hilarious! The only thing that we didn't care for was the food. It was a little over priced for what you got. But other than that I would reccomend this place to anyone. You have to go in with an open mind and be willing to have a good time!
Does anyone realize this is a chain?.
Uh, hello? This entire "We're Dick's" concept is a prepackaged, pre-scripted plan that you can find in many major cities around the country. The San Antonio version pulls it off better than the one in Boston or San Diego, but they still can't take what they dish out. Try making your own joke or say something off beat. Your waiter won't know how to handle the fact that he's off the script.
PS. The food is greasy and overpriced at all Dick's.
