DO NOT EAT HERE! my family and I walked. DO NOT EAT HERE!

my family and I walked in to the San Antonio Dick's well aware of the potential atmosphere but the waiter began making RACIST ASIAN JOKES to my mother in-law in front of the entire restaurant and my 2 young children. the customers all looked up in disgust and surprised that the waiter said those things. he then asked me why i wasn't laughing and i told him that was racist and not at all funnyl. The other customers began to clap for us and many of them told the waiter he was out of line. we decided to stick it out and eat anyway hoping we didnt get him as a waiter.

our food came and i found a SMALL ROACH COOKED INTO MY FRENCH FRIES. i asked our waiter to please take the fries back but he said "GIVES IT FLAVOR". we all had enough and walked out. i spoke to the manager about the food and racist remarks and he responded "THEY WILL ALL BE GETTING RAISES FOR THIS"

FOOD WAS GROSS (i dont eat roaches)

ATMOSPHERE IS OFFENSIVE AND FILTHY

i hope this never happens to another family again...

I have already began a claim against DICK's and a full lawsuit will be complete soon.

Live a little. If you're overly sensitive, go to fuddruckers instead, good food and the staff is nice.

If you can take a joke, go to dick's.

The wings are pretty good, crispy thin skin with just the right amount of sauce, and the ranch is home made.

I love this place, but i don't go to often, its more for a special occasion or something.

"you need a sense of humor to dine here.'. As what the manager told me. The staff is WAY beyond rude but use the environment to be racist. They used foul language telling that we were 'full of s***,' and 'heres your order dumb mexicans,'' 'you need to get in the back and wash dishes dirty mexicans.' I told the manager and he said' you need a sense of humor to dine here.' Needless to say we didn't tip, in fact we just got up and left the food. I love how they waved goodbye to the 'wetbacks.' Yes, as we left they called us that as we left.

Not so great. I understand the whole concept of being a "dick" at Dicks last resort but they took it to a whole other level with sexual harassment. We had minors with us and they totally told the girls to "come back with less clothes on". So this may be ok for an adult but not ok for kids. DO NOT take children there. The food wasn't that great either nd the bar service was bad.

No Morals... The food is Ok but the employees are very disrespectful. Just a bunch college brats that need a job and don't care about quality of service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't fulfill expectations. I went with my girlfriend, who had been to the Dick's in Vegas and told me all about how fun it is, so we were looking forward to taking all the abuse they could throw at us. Unfortunately, our waitress decided that she would insult everyone in the restaurant BUT us. We couldn't understand why we were treated so politely at a rudeness-themed restaurant. We didn't go there for the food, which was oversalted and overpriced. We went there for the unique experience of being humorously trashed by the server, and they didn't deliver. We even tried to provoke her by stalling while ordering and being indecisive. She actually said, "Just take your time," in a genuinely pleasant voice. Then the tipping situation was sort of a catch-22, because we couldn't tip low for "good" service, even though we didn't get the bad service we paid for. Bottom line, the service needs to be consistent in order to meet expectations, because they can't get by on just their lousy food.

NY'ers & other Tourist STAY AWAY FROM D*CKS. Here's the truth about d*ck's.

I went to Texas to see my brother who is in the air force. D*ck's was a couple of blocks away from our hotel, so we decided to have lunch at d*ck's.

We were seated,greeted by our waiter,and that's when the drama began. The waiter threw each menu at us (we were a party of 6). We couldn't believe it, we didn't know the reputation of d*ck's...we were surprised but thought it was funny. The waiter told us not to take it personal because "that how d*ck's manage it's restaurant". Okay...so we looked over the menu. I had a question about one of the meals, the waiter looked at me like I had two heads, walked away and never answered my question. Okay...so we ordered anyway. The server brought us our drinks. We asked for straws. He never brought it to us. So my father asked a second time and the waiter said "straws are for gay men" we didn't find his comment funny at all.. He walked away, and I was uptight that he had made such a thoughtless comment. So I called him over and asked for straws again. He walked away and brought us back coffee straws (the little red stir straws). Hahaha, funny but I told him we really wanted regular straws. So believe it or not, the waiter came back with about 50 straws and threw it at us. It struck my brother and myself in the face. I was so mad, I got up and screamed at him, and asked him, how is throwing straws in someone's face funny. And he said, I always throw things. So I said how would you like it if I threw something at you. He didn't say a word, I'm guessing he was in shock that I was so upset – see, he's used to treating people this way and he's never reprimanded for it. So we left without paying and went to saltgrass, (couple of blocks away) where the server's were polite, and the food was amazing.

If you like to be degraded or if you think being disrespected is funny, then this is the place for you. I have a sense of humor, but his actions were not funny at all. I’m from New York, and in New York we don’t take being disrespected lightly. D*ck’s better watch it, because they are going to do that to the wrong person – and guaranteed the waiters will think twice of being rude.

D*ck's gave us a horrible experience - but it's okay, because there are so many other great restaurant's along the riverwalk.

Good Times. Three of us went out this past Tuesday, May 26th 2009. Francis, our waiter was funny as hell. These guys are quick and will be ready to verbally assualt you with the most minor of things. Hint: If you aren't quick on your heels, you'll miss a lot of the jokes. Loved the place, the atmosphere, the food. Loved every minute of it....just beware, if you get offended easily then this isn't the place for you. You must have thick skin...then again, I was talking trash right back to them so I am sure I got an extre dose of their medicine.

Don't go to D's. D's was to be a highlight of our trip! On Thursday night, (they weren't that busy). It took a half hour to get a beer. On Friday night when we went for dinner, they refused to serve us when we engaged them in the rudeness I understood them to be famous for. The food is expensive and doesn't look that good! There are lots of options on the Riverwalk, don't make D's one of them!

Disappointed in Nice, Tame Waiter. Nothing beats a sunny afternoon and an ice-cold beer on Dick'sLR patio -- watching the people stroll along the river and even meeting people from all over the world as they sit, drink, and try to figure out why the wait staff is so flippin' nuts....

Heh ... my kind of place fer sure.
