Favorite part of our trip!. Me boyfriend and I went to Boudro's on our trip to San Antonio. We're young college students and don't have much money but we had heard great things about this place so we decided to go and try an appetizer. We got the wild mushrooms with goat cheese over polenta...pure heaven! We ordered some salsa and chips which were wonderful. Actually the best salsa we'd ever had. And my mojito was PERFECT. We sat outside on the Riverwalk, relaxed, and really enjoyed ourselves. We will come back here everytime we are in San Antonio!
A Riverwalk bistro with fusion flair..
Boudro's enjoys a positive reputation--especially among Riverwalk establishments--and is consistently packed. Inside the limestone building, however, high-volume seating translates to a high-volume dining experience. Waiters lean toward an initial hard sell of premium cocktails and high-priced wines, followed by particularly long spells of inattention between courses.
A silky sweet corn sauce provides a wonderful foil for the crab- and shrimp-heavy seafood cake appetizer, while basil-lemon-mint sauce that accompanies the Colorado lamb T-bone chops entree can be faint to the point of invisibility. Garlic mashed potatoes are perfectly creamy, but grilled squash may arrive well past overcooked. As for desserts, coconut flan lacks both eggy richness and coconut flavor while dense, cinnamon-rich Louisiana bread pudding floats in a pool of apparently whiskey-free whiskey sauce.
A must for guacamole lovers. Year's ago I had a favorite italian restaurant that made the caesar salad to order at your table...Boudro's is my first experience with the waiter making the guacamole dip at my table...and it was fantasic. Loved the Texas Quail and an assortmrent of the starters. Expensive...sure. Worth it...you bet. Great place to hit in late afternoon for appetizers and drinks. [I was not a big fan of the dinner entrees]. Reservation for dinner is a must. You get seated promptly if you are on the list. A happening place.
boudro's rox. awesome cactus margarita, great seafood dishes, nice atmosphere. best guacamole anywhere. only complaint, not stroller friendly.
Wonderful Restaurant. We enjoyed everything about this place. The service was outstanding: attentive without being cloying. Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts were all delicious. A bit expensive but definitely worth the price.
A couple of my friends and I deliberated for weeks on where we would go to eat Saturday night on the Riverwalk. We searched the net for hours trying to find the perfect spot. We finally decided on "Boudros". We couldn't have made a better choice. DOUBLE THUMBS up to our waiter, Dallas.
If you like upscale dining, this is the place for you.
Good Stuff. This is the best place on the river to eat lunch or dinner.I take all my visitors to taste the cactus margs.Great people watching as well.
Name sounds Cajun, but good Tex Mex. Best meal of a five day stay. The sirloin was unbelievably good rare. All food has a Tex Mex flare. Outdoor dining here gets crowded but remained pleasant. Limited selection for kids.
best on riverwalk. I am a very picky eater and lean towards meat and potatos. Even though Boudro's is more eclectic than I prefer, the blackened ribeye was extremely good. Thay also offer dining on a river barge from time to time. If the weather is nice sitting outside on the Riverwalk is the way to go.
Cajun Queen. This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when in San Antonio. People watching is great. The riverwalk atmosphere is superb. The food is delightful. Try the guacamole which is prepared fresh at your table. The pecan grilled prime rib is supreme as well and a good portion at that!! The restaurant is a little bit crowded, but, definately worth going.
