Editorial Review for El Mirador – by Pableaux Johnson

In Short
Tables in the bright, comfortable room start to fill early on the weekends with patrons looking for their weekly bowl of the restaurant's famed sopa Azteca. El Mirador's nightly house specialties include such stellar entrees as grilled pork loin crusted with cumin and coriander, served with a slightly tart tamarind sauce, as well as an admirable range of substantial vegetarian fare enchiladas filled with spicy garlic potatoes and sauteed onions.

The food is ok. But the service is not good. We had a server name Guillermina, she is simply horrible. She is very rude. Twice I had the experience. Messed up with our order but did n't bother to say sorry. Again messed up with the bill, over charger my friend >>>>>>>>> In a word if u sit outside make sure your server is not Guill... She will make ur lunch/dinner horrible.

I can't see why others are so negative. Our dining experience was wonderful. I had the filet with a sherry poblano sauce that was terrific and Terry had a ancho stuffed chicken that he really liked. I didn't like the ancho mashers, but the Mexican rice and baracho beans were up to par. Margaritas were good too. All-in-all it was a good dining experience for someone (me) who is afraid to try things out of the ordinary (standard Tex-Mex). The service could have been a little better -- but we were there on a busy Saturday night -- So I really wouldn't complain, because they did keep asking if we were satisfied with everything. Entonces, fue una buena comida y experiencia!

Pros: Not your typical Tex-Mex (it's more Interior Mexican)

Cons: None
