The Scene – Set in a stylish, post-industrial warehouse interior, the wooden tables glow with the kind of soft candlelight that says "classy Italian restaurant." Although the patrons are mainly groups of tourists and conventioneers, you can easily lose yourself in the rich tastes and mellow mood. The attentive but never-hovering staff delivers laid back service (a rarity on the Riverwalk) that allows time to enjoy each course. – – The Food – While Paesanos clearly devoted a lot of attention and money to designing the modernistic, raw metal and wood decor, it's…
A new experience & new favorite!

This was our first time & we loved it! Lobster bisque was awesome, if a bit salty. My shrimp Alfredo was delicious & hot from the oven/stove. My husband fell in love with his Penne Gorgonzola! Word of advice: share a dish unless you like doggie bags. The bread loaves were yummy & plentiful. Very nice staff. Sister in law was enticed by the dessert menu but forgot to ask the price :$11. But she ate all the Key lime cheesecake , smothered with Apple Strudle , a la mode. Weird combo, but she ate all, complained about the taste, & got the dessert free. Patient waiter deserves a medal.
- Pros: Great taste & generous portions
- Cons: $11 desserts? Come on!

We attempted to get in this restaurant on Xmas Eve and whoever the manager was taking names seemed extremely frazzled and said he was hoping not to take anybody after 9:00 - would be too late,,,,blah, blah, blah... Very confusing.
So the next afternoon (Xmas), we put our name down for a "wait" time - we were told no reservations and we left. When we showed up the same man as the night before told us 45 min to an hour and never looked at our name. We stepped to the side and another manager (who seemed to be more in charge and was very helpful and was helping all over the front of the restaurant) called our name 15 min. later and said he didn't know we were there, he just took a chance calling the name. We had a lovely seat and a wonderful meal. Linguine with creamy clam sauce (I've had all over Italian restaurants in Chicago) was excellent, pasta with gorgonzola sauce was Delicious!. Plain old spaghetti was almost like homemade, bread and olive oil were wonderful. Two other pasta dishes were great. The drinks were very good.
The downside was this man who was handling the front seatings. We saw him tell at least 10 parties how long a wait they would have (even though there were some empty tables) and they left.
Get someone else for that job and let everyone have a chance to taste that great food. Make sure you get a second person to help with seatings if you don't get in right away. It's worth the push.
- Pros: Great Italian food, nice atmosphere
- Cons: that man at the front desk on Xmas Eve

The service was good, but the food was bland and overcooked. We love the food at the other Paesano's locations, but this one is mediocre at best.
