AWFUL, illegally increased our tip after signing receipt. Our waiter was rude, slow, and lied to us. To top off the poor service, the owner increased our tip by $2. We tipped 15% ($3) on our breakfast. Our credit card was charged with a $5 tip! We disputed the charge and won.

Yummy chicken tortilla soup. I love the chicken tortilla soup at Twin Sisters! Its tomato based and creamy. Most of their food has a different spin, and you won't find it anywhere else. Everything is fresh and delicious, from their salads to deserts. Their Greek salad is also a personal fave!! Just make sure and check your order if you get it to go. They tend to forget items.

in response to "slow service". this sounds like a petty complaint. it makes me wonder if youve ever been anywhere to eat since this is somewhat common. maybe 10 min into your wait you shouldve asked someone what the hold up was. i know everyone would like to think they are special and they are the only customer but they arent. a friendly reminder wouldve been a good idea i think.

p.s.- its the only veg. place in san antonio which is really sad. i dont mind waiting a reasonable amount of time to get good veg. food.

Slow service. This was my first time, and it will be my last. It took over 25 minutes to get a "to go" order that consisted of a 1/2 turkey sandwich. No prior notice that it would take so long to get my order and a half-hearted "sorry" when I inquired about it. The hype is severely overrated! Generally, a person orders to go when they are in a hurry, not to waste over half of a lunch hour! Never again!

Healthy breakfast and lunch choices do exist downtown.. No Rivals
This cafe's downtown location operates absent the funk of the Twin Sisters in Alamo Heights. Its streetcorner location and picture windows give it an urban feel, as does ordering at the counter and fetching your own drinks.

The Popular One
A brisk lunch crowd of locals in dress-for-success and delivery service to area businesses keeps Twin Sisters hopping until closing. You'll find the same great breakfast and bakery items here as on the northside location, as well as fresh soups and sandwiches on home-baked breads. Breakfast includes wholesome variations on breakfast tacos with whole wheat tortillas. True to form, vegetarian options are also available at this Twin Sisters, one of the few downtown eateries to offer the herbivore class more than spuds and lettuce.

Great vegie food & service. We love this place. Great food. Friendly folks. The Alamo Heights version is plagued by unfriendly, inefficient staff. This downtown location is in stark contrast. We love our waiter, who remembers us each time.

Try the miso sandwich, which is unique. The cornbread muffins are fantastic, as are most of the soups (gazpacho, split pea, and bean are our favorites). The mixed grilled vegies with mustard vinegarette is very unusual and tasty. Just wish they served breakfast on the weekends!
