Editorial Review for Majestic Theatre of San Antonio – by Dawn Pomento
The Experience
The utilitarian entrance for the Majestic doesn't hint at the grandeur inside. A faux sky sets the stage at perpetual dusk, just as the stars become visible. A facade of mission architecture frames the stage and repeats throughout the building, even in the upper balcony light fixtures.
Features
The jewel of the Houston Street Revival, the Majestic was built in 1928 as a vaudeville movie palace. Like much of the city, the theatre fell into disrepair for a while. Las Casas, the Foundation for Cultural Arts in San Antonio, spent $4.5 million to restore the theatre to its former beauty. Now the Theatre is home to the San Antonio Symphony performances and Broadway touring shows.

Good locale for shows, but could be better with more comfortable chairs and more current shows.
Cons: uncomfortable chairs
