The Hertzberg Circus Museum has closed..
Every Kid's Dream
Children don't have to run away to join in the circus fun, not when the Hertzberg Museum offers a way to clown around. Much of the collection is arranged specifically for kids, including an interactive "clown corner" with a distorted funhouse mirror and wigs.
For the Young at Heart
Adults will appreciate the over 20,000 pieces of circus memorabilia. Photos, costumes and posters are on display, along with written accounts of circus celebrities and the modern masks clowns use to register their image. Visitors of all ages marvel at the enormous model of a classic old travelling circus, with multiple tents, animals and a ticket booth.
Local Lore
Two recent additions to the museum address Wild West Travelling Shows and the history of a Mexican family-run circus, Las Carpas. The second floor also prominently features stories of local circus performers.
