I used to LOVE going here when I was younger, so I was very excited to take my god daughter there for a special birthday dinner. But yuck!!! Spent $50 on myself and an 8 year old and the food was terrible! I mean McDonald's would have tasted better. The place needs a makeover and a good cleaning pronto! The decor on our wall was tearing and written on. This place has definitely seen better days. The waitstaff doesn't even seem to really try with their costumes (some did, but not many i saw), its like they just threw on some old costume and called it a day. Our waitress wasn't very entertaining, so I can't even say the atmosphere was worth the ridiculous amount of money I spent. I don't mind shelling out $50 on a meal if I walk away full of good food and good memories, but this place most definitely did NOT deliver. I left with a queasy stomach and regret at having gone there. Such a shame, cause it has a great concept and it used to be such a fun place to go.......

Want gourmet food? don't come here. Want your kids to have fun, this is the place. Toothfairie tradition. We go celebrate here. I don't expect great food and I've never been disappointed. It is solid regular american food with lots of smiles for the kiddos. We love the characters there.

Avoid this restaurant. It is in a terrible part of town with theft and break-in issues. Our vehicle was broken in to in broad daylight 6 car spots over from the front door. When we went inside to have the restaurant call the police, we were told that this is something that happens all the time and that we couldn't use the phone. When I inquired of the manager whether or not they had video surveillance in the lot, we were told no, that it was too expensive for them. They like to have the SAPD in the lot and restaurant for just these types of occurrences. If we had know any of this, we certainly would have chosen a restaurant in a nicer part of town.

Magic Time Machine. I had seen the place for years and always wanted to go. A group of my girlfriends and I decided to go and celebrate one of our birthdays there finally! Best decision ever! We have been back as a group for every birthday since then! and a few times just to go! The prices are a little high, but u get a ton of food! Order one plate and share! We dont eat much when we go anyway! We go for the atmosphere! Captain Jack, Ace Ventura, Poison Ivy, The Joker, Zorro, they all know us by name and treat us like friends and family when we go in! I HIGHLY reccomend the place if you want to go somewhere to have FUN! you are sure to walk away with a smile every time!

Eat before you go.... We are from Austin and have driven by the Magic Time Machine for years on our way through San Antonio. We finally made a special trip even after reading the reviews. The food was terrible except for the bread. The bread was really good. We were lucky to get Captain Jack Sparrow. He was the best part of the night. If not for him the enitre night would have been a disaster. We decided if we ever go back we will only go for desert. Do not eat the food. Overpriced.

LOVE their Prime Rib!. I've lived and dined in SA for 62 years and visited MTM often, with years in between. Last time, my husband, another couple and I went to hear a group playing in the bar on a Friday night. We went early so we could eat before hand, but the wait to get a table in the restaurant was long. We asked if we could eat in the bar, and they were SO accomodating. My husband and I each had prime rib, and it was WONDERFUL! The service was great, attentive but not too much, and very polite and fun. I'll be back soon.

Loving Tinkerbell. My gf and daughter and I stopped by on a Sunday a couple of weekends ago and had a great experience. Tinkerbell(Crystal) was our waitress...she was very entertaining for our 4 year old as well as ourselves. Service was fast and Tinkerbell was fun and funny and definitely not hard on the eyes. Its definitely a great place for special occasions but also just for a change of pace and some interactive service/entertainment I would definitely recommend it.

4 LETTERS " G R O S S". I went to the Magic Time Machine in San Antonio to celebrate the victory of my daughter's cheerleading squad, and they had the grosses food ever. I ordered ribs and chicken combo and the chicken still had blood in it, That was so gross, then the fries were cold. This place is so over priced.I had viewed the remarks before I went , and I thought people were excigerating, but it is true. After we had gone and wasted all that money, we didn't eat were hungry and went to Mc Donald's. Waste of money in that place and to top it off, as soon you walk in it smell like a dirty old bar,my family and I weren't comfertable at all.

Prepare for disappointment. Pretty poor overall... like most of the reviews say, if you're 12 you'll probably love it. If you've entered adulthood and no longer need your waiters to be costumed characters, consider someplace else. I'll eat just about anything, but even I barely touched the Chicken Parm. The chicken was obviously bought with grill marks already on it, the pasta was terrible and the sauce came from a jar. I even found a bone in my boneless chicken breast. We went there on the recommendation of two of my wife's coworkers... Definately overpriced for what you get. I can't even remember the last time I went to a restaurant with a salad bar. Bottom line, grow up and go to one of the thousand excellent restaurants in San Antonio.
