Skip this place.
My friend thought we should try this place out since her aunt bought her dress here. My appointment literally lasted 25 minutes. I may be new at this, but I'm pretty sure they should last a little longer.
Our sales associate was rude and acted put off by us being there. She didn't listen to what kind of dress I wanted and implied that we go elsewhere to shop.
No problem, I'll buy my $5000 dress somewhere else.
This was the first store that I went to to try on gowns because they had a Jim Hjelm trunk show. When my mom and I got there we said our max budget was $1700. The girl initally said they didn't have anything but I guess I looked said because she said "well we have some sample dresses that are from past seasons and aren't made anymore". I said great... so I tried on some of those. First off.. I should've known... when you try on dresses you're supposed to step in to them, not drag over your head like she did to me. I wasn't surprised that the samples I was trying on had foundation and lipstick stains on the inside! Geez. I know stuff can be dry cleaned but these are still $1000+ dresses!
I asked her prices and she didn't know. She didn't seem to know much even though she said she's worked there for 3 yrs. Honestly... I think they don't like Mexicans...... there was a white family there grandma, mother, and daughter and they were being served hand and foot and I overheard them saying she was trying on stuff the first time.
I felt very special while I was there and I appreciate the owner calling me again before she placed my order. She wanted to be sure I had no doubts about my gown....now that's an unselfish act.
I am very surprised by the badreviews, because they do not match with the experiences I have had with them. Could it be the competition writing the bad reviews ?because everything has gone very smoothly for me and I highly reccomend the Bridal Salon of San Antonio and their staff.
I see them always going above and beyond normal duty. They love what they are doing and they made me feel so special. They are very very good at finding the gown that was the most flattering on me.
While I was there, they served champagne and cookies....that was a sweet touch.
Oh and their selection...omg it is beautiful and the prices are amazing. You can go as low as $500 and as high as $12,000.
I highly reccomend them.
Horrible Follow-through - Just out to get your money. I ordered my dress and paid upfront for it - $1700. Dress wasn't shipped until 5 weeks before my wedding, then it was lost for 2 weeks. I was told it would take 4 weeks to alter. I got them to alter it quickly, charged me extra (they WON'T tell you a price for alterations until after they're done!). They ordered the wrong veil and tried to tell me I couldn't get a refund, even though the correct one might not be back before the wedding. When I went to pick up my dress, they SNAGGED it in FRONT of me and told me they couldn't see anything wrong with it after I showed them. Then they tried to pin it on ME. Worst $2000 I will ever spend - don't make the same mistake I made. They are nice and tell you what you want to hear until they mess everything up!!!

My guest and I had the grilled Sea Bass. You can't really go wrong with Sea Bass, when it is fresh. The Bass was fresh on this summer afternoon. Our waitress was a little slip of a girl named Elizabeth, studying nursing at the university. I was immediately attracted to her and she blushed as my hand grazed wistfully across her hand as she extened the wine glasses. Jerome was not pleased with my advance, but soon came to except my appreciation for the lass. The vegetable medley was a bit disappointing.....as was the wine. But then, it was my friend that incorrectly chose the merlot to clash with the sea bass. I said "Thank you Liz" as she handed me the check. She was clearly shaken by my strong features and self assured manner. I so wanted to reassure her....but of course....there was Jerome. So I grabbed the check and went to ask her a question about the total......at least that was what Jerome thought. She agreed to meet me later .....and did. Three bottles of Pinot and four egyption cotton towels later.....:).....the universe was in balance.
Oh yes......I shall return to Francois's for the Sea Bass....oh yes.
The staff was very helpful before the purchase of my $3000 gown. Once I paid for the dress, everything changed. I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses there also. When my bridesmaids ordered their dresses, the staff was very ignorant and rude. they ordered dresses that were insanely HUGE to point where it was next to impossible to have them altered down to the size my bridesmaids were. One of my friends ordered her dress after the girl on the phone said that her shape must be "boxy" because her measurements did not make sense. She is an athletic size 2. All the dresses ordered were about 6 sizes too big - except for the one ordered by my "boxy" friend only because she insisted on telling the girl what size to order. They made her sign a paper stating the bridal salon was not responsible if the dress was too small. She still had to have it altered because it was too big. They told her (size 2) she would need a size 18 - she refused and told them not to order anything bigger than a 12. They ordered a size 26 for my size 18 friend......a size 18 for my other size 6 friend.
Once all was said and done the owner/manager was very unprofessional and catty with me - even when I merely had questions.
Worst Experience for a Bride. I came from another country and I was looking for my gown. I went to Bridal Salon of San Antonio and the first impression was great, the treat was amazing by the owner but after you make a deposit everything change. They told my lies about the year of the gown, they told my I could change If I want too for another one because I was buying one that they have there, it was the one everyone tries on. So I try to change for one new one and they were so rude. I don?t one any bride to pass through this experience. At the end I didn?t buy the dress and they kept my money bit that was better tan having to talk to the owner AMY again.
Bridal Salon of San Antonio- Attentive, Caring Service. I purchased my gown and bridesmaids gowns from the Bridal Salon of San Antonio. They were immediately attentive even though I did not have an appointment. It was a last minute stop after a bad experience at another bridal salon where I recieved no attention or help. This was not the case at the Bridal Salon of San Antonio. The ladies including the manager were helpful in selecting the perfect gown for me and my bridal party. The staff was truly interested in helping me.
Love the young energy here!. Yes, the staff is young, but they do seem to know their merchandise and are the young lady who helped me was very understanding about finding a dress that would hide a scar from back surgery. I knew I was in '09 but I didn't feel intimidated. They even did a last minute fitting 2 hours before my wedding as the bustle was hanging funny. Amy fixed it right away with needle and thread and I felt like a princess from their non-pretentious attitude.
It's okay.. The staff is young and isn't very helpful. They seem to not care about finding the perfect dress. They're rushed and don't know their gowns well.
