THE best burgers...ever!. I have had burgers from north to south and east to west - Chester's has THE best chili-cheese burger known to man. I have moved to NC and everytime I return back to SATX for a visit, Chester's is on my MUST list of places to eat. It's well worth the money - if you want a cheap burger then go to a fast food joint!
False Advertising. I've driven by Chester's multiple times, and I am a lover of a good burger. Me and my mother were out and about and I figured I'd try out the "best burger in town". She ordered the fish and chips and I splurged on the burger and fries (A plain burgers costs 5 dollars and a small fry costs 2) and was looking forward to a new taste. When i picked up my food, I was disappointed to find the fries so soggy and bland. I went to the burger to find the patty was very thing and had almost no flavor. I had to add salt and pepper, and I still wasn't satisfied. This reminded me of really bad leftovers from a cafeteria. I won't be stopping here again any time soon.
Overpriced for what you get. The food quality was good, the burger was delicious. The French fries left something to be desired--they were bland and tasteless. It cost about $10/person for a burger, fries and a coke-- way too much money for the quality and quantity that you get. Plus, I was disappointed to find that they were voted the best burger in Texas by a magazine that went out of business in 1992. You really shouldn't be able to advertise "voted best burger in all of Texas" more than a decade after it happened.
JUST OK. The burgers are okay, but I want a larger selection of items to be able to pile on my burger. And if I'm gonna cheat once a week eating a fatty burger I would rather click my heels together and wish that Little Hips was back in business.
Over rated. Over priced and not as good as Fuddruckers, Cheesy Janes, or Fatty's. How are you going to specialize in burgers and NOT HAVE MUSHROOMS!!!! Why??? I don't know who ranks burgers in this town but i think most of the top burger places aren't that good. This being one of them. I think if it starts as a frozen patty then you lose, game over, nobody want that sh!t. If im paying upwards of $10, it better be fresh!!!!
Not worth the hype. Along with Chris Madrid's this is one of S.A.'s most over rated burgers. It's a good burger, don't get me wrong, but best? Child please. I like a little A-1 on my burger and it's not available here. I consider Chester's as the standard for burgers in S.A. it has to be better to be considered good, and anything worse is not worth the time.
The best burger I've ever eaten!!!. OK.......I know what you are all thinking.....another stupid burger review. LISTEN......I had my first Chesters Burger about 14 years ago when I was dating a guy who's parents live in San Antonio. He was stationed at Ft. Hood and when I would come visit we would drive to San Antonio for burgers. Also...when he would come see me I would BEG him to bring me a burger. He NEVER made it. He said it smelled too good and he would eat it on his drive. LOL I SWEAR.......14 years later and I am still craving that burger!!!!!
the big deal. Voted the best burgers.......? I didn't see what was so great about them. I mean Fuddruckers makes their own patties AND bread. The fries were dry and tasted old. The burgers were a good size but thats about it.
