AMAZING! CLASSY! LIGHT AND GARDEN-Y!. Ridiculous! It must have been a different restaurant. This place is posh and the food is gourmet quality! A very healthy and creative menu. Food that feels like you're in a garden. Nothing heavy or greasy.

The specials are your best bet, they change by the chef's palate and whim. The special crepes are legendary and divine.

The soups are daring and often rich. Chicken tortilla soup is nice and light. Awesome brunch menu with perfectly cooked eggs every time.

Vegetarians will love the meatless menu choices and the cook is great at adapting.

The harshest criticism? Kid's Cheese sandwich needs to be made with regular bread. Unquote.

won't return. the potato soup was ok, but not great -- it looked like the milk had curdled from being on the stove too long. The spinach brie quiche was rubbery and tasted awful. Also some of the lettuce on the plate was wilted and soggy. There was a garlicky aftertaste from the quiche that stayed with me all afternoon. I won't go back to eat here -- disappointed because I had read such great reviews about the place. Too bad because it is in such a great location(SA Botanical Garden and historic carriage house).

A hidden gem.. This wonderful bistro, situated at the entrance to the San Antonio Botanical Garden, serves innovative, tasty cuisine at reasonable prices. We visited from Austin on a Sunday afternoon - the service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambience is unbeatable and the food was...well...almost perfect. The lobster benedict and the roasted tomato soup were particularly lovely. We will definitely spread the word and hope to return on a weekday to sample the full menu!

Quaint restaurant in the historic Daniel J. Sullivan Carriage House at San Antonio Botanical Garden features a limited lunch menu.. In Short
The dining area occupies part of the original structure erected in 1896 and moved from downtown in 1988. Booth seating is built into onetime horse stalls. It's the perfect rest stop for visitors touring the plant world on 33 acres of displays. Light is the byword: soup and quiches of the day, plus sandwiches like rotisserie turkey and hot ham and Swiss cheese. Salads include the Mama Mac--chicken salad spread over greens and tomato. Desserts are housemade.

Hummingbird Cake to die for. A great place to spend a Sunday afternoon is at the Carriage House. Everything on you plate is edible and beautiful too. This place is a new experience waiting to happen. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is great, and when you are done eating, you can go and wander around the Botanical Gardens. I also recommend that you save room for the fabulous desserts.
