AWFUL; Owner illegally increased tip after signing receipt. Our waiter was rude, slow, and lied to us. To top off the poor service, the owner increased our tip by $2. We tipped 15% ($3) on our breakfast. Our credit card was charged with a $5 tip! We disputed the charge and won.

why oh why do we keep going back??. It could be the choice of vegan dishes, but every time we go we are all sorely disappointed with the service. The wait staff and co-owner are very RUDE!! No smile!! No courtesy!! We always feel like we are bothering our waiter when we have to ASK for more coffee or tea. This place is cute, but whatever happened to friendly wait staff and courteous service!! We will not return and ALWAYS choose Madhatters where the food is awesome and their owner and staff are friendly!!! Shame on you Twin Sisters...your location and "funky" appeal can only get you so far!!! You've lost 3 of us and we WILL be telling all of our friends!!!

Very disappointing. My wife and I heard about this place a few times, and thought we would try it out. We're vegetarian, so we ordered a couple of eggless sandwiches. We thought with the price of $7 that they would be substantial, and that the bread would be hardy, especially since chips and drink cost extra. When the sandwiches finally came, it took a while considering what we got, they were skippy things on bread that could have come right out of a typical grocery store. We didn't even get full. My wife had a cookie, and that was just as disappointing. Our advice, don't waste your hard earned money.

A juice box??. We wanted something light for lunch so stopped for soup and a sandwich. My husband ordered apple juice to start, and our server brought a cup of ice and a juice box, complete with straw attached to the back. After getting over our shock, it took a few moments to tear the top open to pour it into the glass of ice. It was either that or try to squeeze it from the straw. The soup ordered tasted fine but once again was suprised to see our half a sandwich had hardly any meat on it. There was one very thin slice.

I guess the bill was our fault for not looking more closely at the menu as our total for 2 orders of soup & sandwich (cup of soup & half a sandwich) with juice cost us $23!. But get this, that little juice box cost us $2.50. What??

The service was good but I would not recommend if you are watching your budget.

great food. I am surprised at some of the reviews I read.....we ate at the downtown location everyday for lunch while visiting San Antonio. Looking for a place that had healthy options we were very impressed with the food. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. We tried something different every day and was pleased with everything we ate. Wish we had this place in Atlanta, it was excellent.

Amazing chicken tortilla soup and grilled cheese!. Wow, I am honestly shocked at all the horrible reviews of Twin Sisters. I am in town on business and the place came very highly recommended by a coworker, so I paid a visit both yesterday and today to the Broadway location. While it was true that I had to wait a little bit for a server to take my order on my first visit, the place was packed both times because I had come in during the lunch hour. No one was rude to me, the food arrived quickly and tasted wonderful. I plan on returning many more times before I leave, and will miss it when I go back home!

Don't fall for the hype, food will make you hurl. K, I thought, this place looks pretty good, since it's kinda in a nice area (09) San Antonio and was packed. So once again the crowds prove that most people are totally insane and can't even taste their food. First thing I notice is that it's 'trendy' I mean your going to get fare that's a little light in the loafers ifn you get my drift. Second, the beverage choices were regular tea or raspberry which should have set off the real man alarm to get the HE double goal posts out of there. So I start looking over the menu, and nothing looks real, tofu this, watercress that, and the only thing I could see halfway resembling real food was the rubbed seasoned turkey burger with red skin potatoes. I wait eagerly while many stick thin fruits gaze upon the freak show before them, a fat middle aged man with a blackberry 8800 dressed in cheap clothes. Not to be deterred my waiter finally brings the faux burger, and I notice the red skin on the potatoes has turned black., which where I come from is called burnt. Well hopefully the burger would make up for that, but NOOOOOOOOO. The burger tasted and smelled like someone had rubbed dried ground dog shite on it. I mean it was stank. I still thought, well maybe it's a trendy kind of seasoning and managed to force the rest down. I'm sorry I did, cause I then felt like upchucking for several days after. My beef is, Don't go where they serve faux beef to insane people. Not worthy of one star, but that's the lowest I can give it.

Horrible food and worse service.. This is for the restaurant with the same name on Broadway. The food and service are horrible, don't go there. My friends and I went to this establishment for lunch on August 18th. When we first walked in, the young lady at the front register was very short with us and dismissive, like we were ruining her day even coming in the door. Once we received our food, one of my friends got violently ill after only taking a few bites of her meal. She ran into the restroom, but she still ended up making a mess. I told the young lady who we first met when we came in the door that my friend got sick and there was a mess in the bathroom. The girl rolled her eyes and said "ok". We went back to our seats where we were comforting our friend, when an older woman came up to us demanding to know who got sick in the bathroom. My friend said she did, at which point the lady motioned her back to the restroom and demanded she clean up the mess herself. My other friend and I confronted the women, who continued to be rude and told us to get out of the restaurant. We ended up telling the woman we refuse to pay for the food, which had more than likely made my other friend sick, and we left.

Double your dining pleasure in a funky atmosphere.. The Scene
Officially, there are two Twin Sisters restaurants. But thank goodness, like the best parents of couplets, the restaurants' owners (yes, in fact, twin sisters) didn't feel the need to force exact replicas out of their creations. A larger space, longer hours and a dollop more spunk keep the Alamo Heights location attuned to its slight rocker edge, despite the lunching ladies and Heights-ites who dine here daily.

The Food
Although the definition is a loose one, Twin Sisters is generously recognized as one of the city's few veggie-friendly restaurants. Turkey burgers, pork-chops and other meaty surprises pepper the menu, but plenty of sin carne options exist (penne pastas, avocado sandwiches), in addition to a daily rotation of soups (the chicken tortilla here is one of the best around), pizzas, enchiladas and specials. The girls also feature a full brunch menu, with fresh French toast and breakfast tacos with more innards than you can shake a pigtail at.

Polite service, pleasant atmosphere, great salad. I read the negative reviews but a friend wanted to go here. we went. When I walked in I was politely greeted. When the waitress came she was friendly and fun. She recommended some stuff, and it was GREAT!
