The Links – This 6,740-yard course has been lauded as one of the top courses in Texas. But Quarry's unique back nine is what sets it apart. Holes 10 through 18 sprawl across an 88-acre quarry floor, with 100-foot vertical walls lining three of the course's four boundaries. A lake adds extra challenge to the layout. – – The Neighbors – The high class Alamo Heights homes perched atop the old quarry cliffs seem so close to the fairways that you could almost break a window with an errant drive. But if you can afford to play at the Quarry, you can…

Best Golf in SA area
by Shanks at Citysearch
Being a local golfer, I play many of the courses in the SA area and am very familiar with The Quarry. I always feel my money is well spent because of the great year round course conditions and friendly staff. They recently introduced 10 minute tee times, which I don't believe I've seen anywhere else in the city, not even La Cantera. This creates a wonderful pace of play and a sense of relaxation that you'll be done in close to 4 hours. With the hour you save, you have time to eat in their beautiful restaurant, or hang out for happy hour with their welcoming bartenders. If you're looking for an enjoyable round of golf, The Quarry is your destination. Keep an eye out for their "Player Service" staff in their white caddie suits. Those things are just awesome! I thought I was about to play a tour event! Happy golfing!!!
- Pros: Course Conditions, Friendly Staff, 10 Minute Tee Times
Private Club experience for the masses!!

The event: Bachelor party weekend...The highlight:The Quarry Golf Club!!
This place is unbelievable to say the least. We played at 830 on a Saturday, and played in 4 hours and 10 minutes! The course was in awesome shape, staff was very welcoming-even inviting us in for a round at their bar after our round! Nice touch, and best food we've ever had at a golf course-hands down! Service is top notch, like a private club...their"player services" staff even wears white logoed caddy jumpsuits! Too cool! If you are close to San Antonio, this entire experience is a must!
- Pros: Incredible service, welcoming staff, and most scenic views
- Cons: Wanting to buy everything in their stocked up pro shop
A Great Escape

When I went to the Quarry for the first time, what really caught my eye was the beautiful scenery and the layout of the course. The course also proved to be a perfect balance of challenge and leisure. I was very intrigued by the courses ability to prove that good quality can be affordable.
My son and I spent a great weekend out there and we still talk about how wonderful it was. It was an incredible experience and we rank the course right up there with Pebble Beach.
The staff and personnel were very friendly and my son and I can't wait to enjoy another round.
- Pros: The incredible landscape, the welcoming employees.
- Cons: none
Overated

Played jan 2004: Course was in great shape, but overall I was disappointed. There are only about 4 or 5 holes on the back nine that really stand out. Regular green fees are outrageous, but they have some good specials. Didn't catch his name, but the starter was great. His one liners made me laugh. Although it's a good course, there are better courses for the money.
- Pros: , staff
Quarry Not the Best
by soccergolfer3186 at Citysearch
Although the Quarry involves natural beauty along with a nice design, La Cantera is a much better course in the San Antonio area. The value is better at the Quarry however. If I had my pick between the two, my personal pick would be La Cantera Resort Course hands down.
