Bad service and the owner is Joey very rude. Bad service, we even talked to the owner Joey and he was rude and very unpleasant. He thinks he better then everyone else. Don't forget your dad made that place for you. If Magie or your mom found out how you act when you drink i'm sure they would be upset. Try not to flirt with the girls so much. And your bartender Scott NO smiles or anything from him he's like a zombie

Terribly Managed + Bad Beer. First time at Blue Star about 5 years ago, the food was pretty good. The next two times I went a couple years later, the food was sad. I don't think I'd ever had a great beer there, and I love a good microbrew.

Wasn't planning on ever going back, but I had won a free burger party including a round of beers, so why not? Scheduled the party and they told me I was in the books. A friend arrives first and they tell him it has been cancelled. We get there and the manager tells me the same. He told me I tried to have the party months prior but nobody showed up. Another chick had won the same prize and I told him that was probably her party. So he reluctantly verifies it and then reluctantly seats us.

They stuck the new server with us and he ended being great and the only good part of the experience. He went to check on what we get and comes to tell us there will be no free beer. So we all buy our own pitchers of blah beer. Then, the server comes back up and says we only get the basic burger with no cheese. So everybody had to pay for their own toppings. The burgers were not fantastic and I was very disappointed with the entire experience, especially how the manager treated us. I emailed the manager who told me I won the party and she has yet to respond.

It's a cool building with a lot of potential, if somebody with more brew and restaurant experience owned it, San Antonio would be a happier place.

Awful. My fiance and I like to go to microbrews in different cities whenever we travel. We decided to go here because it was within walking distance to our hotel. The beer this brewery makes is the worst beer we have ever had. We have been to breweries all over the US. The service was horrible. I serve and we go out to dinner and rarely ever get bad service. The server was sitting around and was rude. We wanted to buy a beer glass and the server was making up excuses in regards to not getting us one; ie can't find the keys and we don't have any more. There was clearly some on the bar that we could have purchased. My fiance did not want tomatoes on his pizza and the server said that there was no way to take them off. I could see if they were premade pizzas and the tomatoes were finally chopped but that was not the case. There were 4 slices of tomatoes that could have easily been removed before putting the pizza in the oven Also, to top it off, my fiance and I both became ill from the food.

A Fine Place. Went here to get away from the tourist area for a while. The atmosphere is laid-back and the server was really friendly and helpful. I had a solid turkey sandwich and a tasty IPA. We ate here before walking around the art complex, which has some really cool shops (unlike some of the stores that pass as "art" shops on the riverwalk). And they even allowed me to take a beer to go while we walked around. I suggest taking a short trip here on the trolley if you're staying by the riverwalk and don't want to spend a ton on every meal.
