Great steakhouse at a great price!. I have been going to the Little Red Barn since I was child. The food is great and the baked potatoes are always steaming hot!!! Eating there is like eating with family. I highly recommend the original chicken fried steak...an all time favorite.

couldn't even identify type of steak!. My husband and I went there after seeing ads on TV. Seemed like a good place to get a steak. We ordered a filet of tenderloin and the large sirloin. When our plates arrived the meat looked nothing like a filet or sirloin! The filet which I've had many times is ususally 2-3 inches thick. This one was 1/2" and looked like they had butterflied it, which even at 1" I've never seen one that thin. It was tender but tasted like a tenderizer had been used on it. My husband's sirloin didn't look like any meat you would serve to a person. It was only about 1/4" thinck and was so full of gristle that he could only eat less than 1/4 of it. The rest was all waste. I wouldn't feed that to my dog.

We were very dumfounded as to how this restaurant is still in business with the poor quality of meat they serve. I assume most people must order the fried shrimp or burgers. Maybe they are okay. But, for the price we paid- $19 per steak it was a rip off. You can go to Texas Land and Cattle and get a real steak for that price!

BEST STEAKHOUSE.....PERIOD!!!!. I have retired from the Army and having said that, I have eaten in many steakhouses around the world and many are good but do not measure up to the Little Red Barn. It is a family owned business that was opened in 1963. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is friendly and fast, and the food is wonderful. The steaks are made to order exactly as you want it. The seafood, especially the shrimp, is above awesome. If you want a good steak, great prices, wonderful service and good atmosphere, this is the place to go.

Still a great steakhouse!. This was my first job right out of high school in 1966. The owners embraced their staff as extended family. As a waitress, I was very proud to wear the cowgirl skirt and vest outfit with boots, hat and all! I dined there recently and it is good to know that they still carry on this tradition which adds to the atmosphere of this western themed steakhouse. Most importantly, the steaks are still the best in town! The high standard of friendly service continues to this day. The Hernandez family has carried on the superb quality of this outstanding restaurant.

Still a nice place for dinner. This place has always been a favorite. It is a little more special than your average chain run steakhouse. The atmosphere is downhome and unpretentious. There are no old gas station emblems, coke posters or cute decor items that you will see everywhere you go. The food is fine and the prices are in check. After reading the other reviews I was a bit nervous about going back, but I am glad we did. It has a special place in our hearts. Will definitely will go back

Poor quality/cheap prices. I had great hopes as I had heard many rave reviews. I tried it twice, thinking maybe it was an off night the first time. I should have known better. The truth is that the food is just of poor quality. That is also reflected in the price, it is very affordable.

Terrible place for "steak.". My husband and I stopped by this place on our way home evening. He had heard everyone rant and rave about it so we figured we'd give it a shot. When we first got there our hostess showed us to our table and put two salads down for us. I'm a huge salad person but these were just gross. The lettuce was hit or miss....some pieces were edible others were like the lettuce you get when you leave it in the bag in the refridgerator for too long.

We both ordered rib eye steaks. When the steaks came to our table I was amazed at how THIN they were. I've never seen such a weaker piece of meat (For 14 bucks!.) It also seemed as if the meat had been ground up and formed into a steak. There was something off about the cooking style as well and I couldn't quite place it. That's when my husband pointed out that the meat seemed to have been fried in a pan. You kidding me? I'm not one to ever complain or even take time out to set up an account and write a review but this place was terrible.

The server was nice and checked back often. I guess since I'm forced to give this place one star, it should be for her.

The last of my complaints, and I consider this rather small. But being a new mother, I now know how neccessary a changing table is. This place is without. Some people could argue that maybe its not a child friendly place, fine by me. Its a restaurant and I'm always hesitant to bring a baby to a restaurant, but he for sure wasn't the only kid in diapers there. Thanks to that though, I had to change my kid in my car in the parking lot which isn't the easiest task in the world.

All this being said, we'll never go back. If you see this Big Red Barn while driving on the freeway, word of advice.....keep driving.

Never Again!. Use to be a good restaurant many years ago - not anymore! We had a large party and everyone complained about something. The steaks tasted sour!Seems like they had been left to defrost in water for many hours. Someone else found a fly in the baked potato, the chicken fried steak was burnt and the food was cold when served. We shared our experience with others, only to find that they also had the same complaints.
