loud impatient service /small portions/feels as if your a bo

basic smoked cheap meat and nasty sausage,men serving acting as if you are bothering them(maybey they should go work elsewhere such as goodwill).the owners seem to pre occupied chargeing for everything such as a container or extra pickles or napkins as if to offset the so called remodleing job.the bbq was mediocre at best and the portion of beans and potato salad were so damn small,i felt to embarrased to ask for morei predict this estblishment will close itself because of word of mouth and we will learn to eat at b millers..i was glad to finally walk out.....pewww..

Great Smoked Food with Bar-B-Que Sauce

This place isn't for everyone, just people who like good homestyle food. It's self service, so I don't know why anyone would complain about the service, unless they mama neva taught dem no betta. Before you order you can see the food, how it is prepared and judge for yourself what looks good. I like taking friends there when the concensus is for bar-b-que, since I don't like bar-b-que sauce. Everything has plently of flavor without hiding the taste in some overpowering tomato based concoction. Which as Bar-b-que sauce goes, I'd say it's better than most.. You can order a couple of sides to go with you meat(s). I reccomend the cole Slaw and Baked Beans. If you're expecting Bill Miller's, with more cheery faces asking you if everything is alright between each chance you get to take a bite, you're going to be disapointed. but if you want to get a plate of real food cooked right out in the open for all to see, take that plate to the table and dig in, you will be pleasantly surprised.

• Pros: For this guy having the BBQ sauce on the side is a big plus.

Worst BBQ

I visited the Smokehouse on one occasion because I was in the neighborhood and several people had said it was the best BBQ in town. Boy, were they wrong!!! This was probably the worst quality BBQ I have ever had! The sausage was very cheap quality (I'm afraid to know what was in it), the brisket was dry and I asked for white meat chicken and I got a leg instead. The place seemed dirty too.

I read the review in Texas Monthly and saw that it made the list of top BBQ joints in the state. Someone at the Smokehouse must have bribed the critics at TM because I don't know what they were thinking. My friends did insist that I try it again. They said maybe I just went on a bad day before. On my second visit, the food was still not any better. Same cheap quality sausage and brisket, and the sides weren't any good either. I will definitely not return to this place again. Save your money and stay away from this joint!
