Relaxed living and Southern hospitality with downtown convenience..
The Scene
Just four guest rooms offer an intimate getaway in this historic two-story house. A quartet of porches overlooks an oak-shaded lawn, and antique furnishings recall the property's genteel 1902 origins. All stays include a full breakfast showcasing Southern favorites.
The Details
With its location just ten minutes from the Convention Center, this inn sees many weekday business travelers. Along with an evening social hour, amenities such as free unlimited local calls, inexpensive faxes and copies, special business rates and a flexible cancellation policy attract working road warriors in search of homey accommodation. The inn also attracts romantics, who gravitate to the Verandah Room and the separate 1902 Carriage House, each with its own two-person Jacuzzi.
No Complaints Here. Had some relatives come in from New York and they stayed at the Adams House. The area is loaded with history and romance. Accomodations were wonderful as per my niece (who is noted for her whine). Truly a great place to stay if you're looking for something off the beaten track and romantic.
Nice Place, Bad Location. My husband and I enjoyed a 2-night stay here in the Cozy Carriage House. The room/cottage was lovely and included a kitchenette, jacuzzi tub for 2, very comfortable bed, and a sofa bed. It is located in the King William Historic District which is part run-down shacks and part B&B's. We were very uncomfortable walking through the area at night, but as long as you drive, you're fine. The breakfasts were wonderful and the owners were very sweet and accomodating.
