Best in San Antonio. Mendez Cafe is the best mexican restaurant in San Antonio. Not located in a tourist area you would think not as many people would know about it; but be prepared to wait in line - IT'S WORTH IT! The fresh homemade food (no microwave signs posted) make it worth the wait and the price . . . you won't find a better value! Bring cash - this little place doesn't take American Express (or any of the others!) And be prepared to enjoy a breakfast or lunch worth coming back for; time & time again!
