Hogwild is the best music store in S.A.. I've been going to Hogwild for 15 years and I have no intention of stopping. Screw Best Buy, Target, Barnes, and Borders. Hogwild is where it's at. Anything you want special ordered, consider it done. Knowledgeable staff, check. Great selection is in the bag. Awesome used selection too. T-shirts, vinyl, buttons, stickers, zines, it's all there. Please support independent record stores, they are the best!

Just depends on what you're looking for.... Travel is part of my job and so I get to see a lot of record shops as I feed my vintage vinyl addiction. I thought, after reading the reviews about this place, that Hogwild would be much better than it is. Like I said, it all depends on what you're looking for. Vinyl is my passion and this shop has a nice selection, not the largest, but certainly worth a trip to cruise the limited stacks ...especially if you don't have a lot of time but need to get a quick vinyl "fix". What I found appealing was the large stock of $1 albums. I walked away with some good stuff and a true Diamond in the Rough; a copy of BS&T's "Brand New Day" (vg to ex condition) courtesy of the bargain box. There is a small array of used, collector grade classic vinyl (Beatles, Stones Steppenwolfe, et. al.). A nice feature the shop does when price-labeling the "good stuff" is to place the sticker *inside* the album cover so as not to trash the cover with sticky labels (that you have to remove and hoping you don't rip the cover in the process). Another nice feature is a turntable you can use to listen to potential buys ...do it sparingly though because the TT is not anything close to audiophile in nature.

Hogwild is worth a visit and you can scan the vinyl dollar boxes in about 45 minutes or so ...and you might just find something great. It just depends on what you're looking for.

Best Place to buy music. Looking for original hard to find band stickers? This is the place. Don't go to those over priced corporate places near the malls, just don't do it. Why spend $20 on a cd when you can buy it for $10-$15 here? I bet you won't walk out with just one item. Support your local Record Store!

One Of The Last Great Indies. As one who who worked as a rock jock all over the country during the 70's it's refreshing to see an independent record store such as this. The big chains refuse to special order anything, and employ teenie bopper idiots who don't know music from shinola (thats putting it nicely). The people at Hogwild are the most knowledgeable and helpful. The in store stock is excellent and if you need a rare or out stock item just ask.

We need more stores like this!
