This Place Comes Close To "Cheers". This place has the best "truckers" enchiladas in San Antonio. The place is pretty much a "hole in the wall" but it's a great hole. The owners and wait staff are super friendly. Once you start going there you simply start to become a friend to them.

You will be a believer too!. Consistently drawing great national, regional, and local music. You MUST go to see the music, and you need to eat their burgers--best in the city. Steve and Barbara are down-home and friendly. Go visit once and you'll be a believer!

The heart and sound of Midtown, with a side of fabulous food.. The Scene
In the early 1930s, Newt Casbeer, a politician who owned racehorses, built the small strip center that houses Casbeers. The space, initially a plumbing supply store, quickly turned into a bar where locals played pool and dominoes. There is still an old domino table near the small stage area, and a beaded wire--an old scorekeeping method--is suspended from the ceiling.

The Draw
In the 1960s, it began serving food, and that's when it became an institution. Now, all types of people from all over the city flock here for regional and local music. If people are going to call the roots-rock and country bands that play Casbeers' "Third Coast," then the food it serves is Third Coast cuisine: big, juicy burgers, famous enchiladas, Frito pie. Be warned: The portions are large, even though the prices are shockingly low.

A San Antonio Treasure. Casbeers continually brings the best bands to town. It's a friendly atmosphere for all ages. And don't get me started on those enchiladas!!

My favorite place in SA. Casbeers ROCKS! Their burgers are great and they really do have the best enchiladas in town --and Steve's chicken & dumplings are the BEST I've ever had. Great, super friendly staff who make you feel right at home.
