Good Food Great Service. I decided to try this place out one day with my girlfriend Rawan. I live in the Dominion so I really dont care to drive downtown for lunch but she twisted my arm. Well, I must say that to my surprise everything was absolutely delicious. The customer service was amazing! There is truly nothing that is more important than customer service to me. Traditional favorite, average cuisine. I've patronized this SA landmark since the 70's. Located in a quaint stucco building in a quiet neighborhood that is easily accessible from downtown area, this restaurant is a favorite for locals and a real treat for tourists. The atmosphere and service recalls that old-time casual dining experience that has virtually disappeared from the restaurant scene now days. The patio area is a ideal spot to enjoy a margarita or a tall glass of sangria. Service is generally very good, but there have been occasions over the years when I felt a little neglected. Food is primarily traditional Tex Mex with a lean toward Southwest cuisine. I'd rate the quality on most dishes I've sampled as middle-of-the-road average in a town that boasts some of the best mexican food in Texas. My wife and grown daughter love this "cute" little place. As former restaurant owner, I have to point out that great food and decent service will sell regardless of the "atmospere", but the over-all experience at La Fonda should place it pretty high on your dining list the next time you're in SA.…
