" We don't EVER take Reservations!". Mr. and Mrs. Reyes; What a shame! I read about your restaurant and really felt that you valued "family" and tradition, So what better place to have a breakfast gathering for our family.I attempted to reserve the party room on a Sunday for a group of 30 people, was told that they NEVER reserve the room but will likely allow us to have the room if we came on time. I even offered to place a monetary deposit, as it was going to be an important family function. We arrived, the whole party, at 10:30 am sharp, only to be told that a party of 17 guests were seated already in the room. What turned out to be" just 10 more minutes" turned into an hour. The hostess never approached us to even make contact with us to let us know that they were at least working on it. A third of our guests had to leave before we were even seated. Guess when you have a constant stream of business it doesn't matter to go above and beyond to attend to a large group. So what if we never come back, they still have their regulars to count on! So much for Customer Excellence! Remember, at some point you will alienate enough people that your business will eventually suffer.Guess next time we will go to another retaurant that appreciates large groups.

Frequent Customer. I am a frequent customer at Panchitos even when they were located at the small building around the corner. My favorite is the Carnitas plate, and most my friends order the same when we meet at Panchitos for lunch during the week. This place is so popular that we try to meet about 11:30 am or after 1:00 pm for lunch. Service is always great and they are attentive and the food is served timely. I have tried many other plates including breakfast and the plates are all huge and taste fantastic. I always leave satisfied and full.

Formerly a one-room operation just a block down McCollough, a determined Panchito's has expanded from petite to pervasive.. Packed House
Drive down the sunny strip on a Saturday and the breeze-way of the restaurant brims with more hungry locals than its menu with tacos. Inside, the space is nearly cavernous, with large, un-paned windows for an unobstructed view of the street (not to mention the traffic build-up from the incessant roundabout construction at the Olmos intersection).

The Best Part of Waking Up
Although Panchito's features a full lunch menu, the spot is perfect for a leisurely breakfast, which it serves until noon and all day on weekends. The Panchito's special taco could be considered a reward for getting out of bed, absolutely stuffed with a collection of the most integral breakfast taco elements: beans, potatoes, egg and chorizo. Each bite offers the diner a choice of what to savor the most. Also of note is the migas plate, resembling a thin, delicate omelet, layered with an appropriately restrained helping of cheese and crispy tortilla strips.

SA's best-kept secret. Great flour tortillas. Solid food at a reasonable price.

This is one place we SA residents need to keep quiet about -- we've got to keep some of our outstanding places to ourselves.

Bad Service. I am from out of town and ate once at Panchitos Rest. once. I thought the food was great. However, the service I have received in trying to book a party for two weeks after calling long distance fell upon deaf ears. I call every two days, long distance and unfortuntately, the date I had tried to reserve to show off one of San Antonio's restaurant was now not available. If I had receive mediocre response, perhaps I could have been successful in bringing 200 out of town guests to San Antonio and boast about the food. The service in obtaining information was dissatisfactory, I will take my business elsewhere. The wrong people work for this place. Even the managers attitude is off key. Good luck in boasting your success, but never count on me going there again. A fast food chain is better in responding to request. -Houston, TX

Greatest Tex-Mex Breakfast in San Antone. Come and sit down for a cheap and great breakfast at Panchitos. Their tacos range from a buck to two bucks and 2 to 3 will easily fill you up. Their migas are second to no one. I eat here 50 or 60 times a year as my gut will testify. What really makes their tacos so great are the freshly made steaming hot tortillas. Come and try it out, spend nothing, and leave full.
