What looks like a big ol' house in permanent-Fiesta mode on the edge of Monte Vista is one of the best places to find a piñata or other Mexican party favorites. For every holiday, Alamo Fiesta offers unique ornaments. The selection of year-round goodies--paper flowers and Talavera pottery, as well as other folk art--is nice too. The selection is smaller than the outside first suggests, and parking can be a challenge in the small lot out front, but a quick stop can be more pleasant than a trip to El Mercado.
Quality and Quantity
The house really comes alive before and during Fiesta, when cascarones and piñatas fill every nook and cranny. Ask about special deals on quantity purchases.
