Overrated. This over priced mini-chain staple of Stone Oak offers a menu, a staff, and kitchen that leaves diners wanting for more. While I confess their pork fried rice is consistently good, many of their other staples like Sesame Chicken can be good one week and food court quality the next. "Spicy" items are often as bland as the service. Basic options such as brown rice are not available. I've found the service to be pretty slack and uncaring of the diner's experience. Essentially, after two dozen or so visits, I finally have written them off as not being worth the hype or the inflated check.

great food!!. Taipei is one of mine and my husbands husbands favorite restaurants. We've made it a special place for just the two of us to have dinner on "Date" night. The services is wonderful, the food it fabulous. We highly reccommend Taipei.

Good Food - Horrible Smell. The back room of the restaurant smelled like urine. It must have been a lot of urine because it was a very strong stench. The restaurant must have known, because they had a Glade Plug-in. The food was good. I recommend the Orange Chicken. It was delicious. The egg rolls are not worth the money.

Go on a Tuesday night when they have half off dinners.

Pretty decent place.... I have visited Tai Pei on many occasions and have never had a bad experience. The food is a bit pricey, but they usually have good dinner specials going on. The waitstaff is pretty friendly and there is an entire wall of windows so there is plenty of light. It has always been tidy, although on Tuesday nights, when all items are half off and the people are flying in and out, it's not quite up to par. I would recommend their egg drop soup, lemon chicken and mongolian beef. Don't get anything in the black bean sauce or the lobster sauce, as they taste a bit off. They are also vegetarian friendly, as one can substitute tofu for any meat dishes, and there is also a no MSG option. And in response to a previous review, I don't even think the waitstaff get cigarette breaks.

What a dump. On several occasions I have had the miss fortune of having to meet friends or family in this establishment, on one such occasion the smell of dead animal was so prevalent I did not even venture past the host?s stand. Out of the eight or nine times I have been forced to visit Taipei I have seen those little brown creatures your get when you don't clean food up off the floor (apparently the name of this creatures is an inappropriate word on citysearch) dirty silverware and glasses. Do yourself a favor and go right behind Taipei and eat at China Inn the food is better and you will not run the risk of getting sick.
