Young and Old. I have been a loyal customer of Coach's Corner since 2003. When I first started going there for pool league, the bar was only open on one side. Two pool tables, a jukebox, big screen tv, and a bar with some of the coldest, if not the coldest beer in town. Coach and his son John made it a point to know every person in that bar and treat us all the same. Cold, cheap, beer and great relaxing times, was what this bar was about. Today, 2009, nothing has changed about their layed back, come sip a cold one with me and we'll talk about the game attitudes. The only thing that has changed is the bar itself. John and Coach decided to re-open the second side with some up-to-date modifications. We're talking several plasma tv's, the best tasting grill (in which by the way serves everything from pizza to "The Tastiest and Meatiest" pork chop sandwiches), two electronic dart boards, and not to mention the greatest upgrade of all....four new pool tables!!! Two 7' Valley tables, a 7' Diamond and a 9' Diamond table, which almost are almost always open for use. Not to mention the new bar, which sells 36oz Ice Cold Schooners at a very reasonable price...we're talking soooo cold, that the little bit of head you get at the top, turns into ice within seconds!!!! Whether you want to relax and enjoy some cold beer watching the game, or would like to try your luck on the best pool tables in the city, or even test your aim with some darts...Coach's Corner...HAND'S DOWN...is San Antonio's place to be. Everyone from Coach down to that one regular who is there every night telling the same old stories from back in the day treat every person that walks in there with open arms. I will continue to be a loyal customer of coach’s forever.

Laid Back. if you enjoy a very casual, laid back atmosphere, then go to this ice house. The "Coach" makes appearances regularly and is a very nice person. Ditto to the people that work there including John, his son and Suzanne. The beer prices are excellent. Some weekends they have live music and dancing in the other section of the building. Generally and older group of customers, but also has some yonger people. Great place to go for cheap beer before you go out. You can sit and just have a good chat either inside or outside on the small patio. Lots of colorful characters there---go Joe!!!!!
