Encore For Women

Rude, Discourteous and Very Disrespectful. I wish it was possible to give this shop a zero-star rating, but I am forced to give it at least one star, which it most certainly does not deserve. On Thursday, 4/12/2012, my husband accompanied me to Encore where I hoped to leave some Foxcroft blouses for consignment.

We waited for over 30 minutes while "the lady who approves consignments was picking up lunch." During the time we waited we were completely ignored. When this lady breezed through the front door she was told that there was a consignment awaiting her approval. She then proceeded to the "back room."

After about 10-15 minutes she reappeared from the back of the store with my clothes and basically threw them haphazardly onto the counter, mumbling to the young woman behind the counter. After another 10 minutes the young woman behind the counter announced, "we can't use your clothes."

I have never been treated so rudely and with such disrespect in all of my 61 years. This is the second and absolutely the last time I will ever darken Encore's door.

We proceeded to another very nice consignment store where all but 3 of my items were gladly accepted and we were treated with courtesy and respect. We received a very polite explanation about why the 3 items were not accepted, which we appreciated and agreed with.…

Not impressed with the staff. I have shopped at Encore for over a year now and was in the shop yesterday. There were two young ladies tending the shop and when I walked in, no acknowledgment, no "welcome to the store, let me know if I can help you", nothing. As I gathered a few items for the dressing room, the youngest gal quickly took the items and hung them on a rack while I continued to look around. When I finally decided on my items, I took then to the counter to pay out, and once again, nothing, the older gal, actually seemed irritated. I have spent hundreds of dollars at Encore, recommended some of my closest friends, but my experiences have gotten uncomfortable and I don't deserve to be treated like that. I am a patron, paying for goods, and like to conduct my business in a friendly atmosphere...c'mon Encore, you can do better than that!!!…

Amazing Clothes, Great Prices, Friendly Staff!. The staff is what makes Encore special: they take the time to help you find exactly what works for you, with never any pressure to buy. They carry high end designer clothing in current styles at good prices. My daughter flies in from Portland, OR to shop there and loves the shoes and jeans.

I am fond of St. John and own several beautiful outfits I will always treasure.

There are always mark downs of 20% to 50%, and end-of-summer and annual sales to look forward to.

Fakes Bags and Rude Staff. I went there last week. I asked 2 different staff members about consigning and they talked to me like I was some worthless person who didn't have items that were good enough for their store. Their loss.

There were some really cute clothes at good prices. The shoes were really overpriced for used shoes. Used Louboutin flats for $250? With the economy the way it is, department stores are selling these shoes NEW for that price. The bag sections are a whole different story. They sell the low end stuff and fake bags on a bookshelf, and the good stuff is put behind a glass case. They were KNOWINGLY selling fake bags. They weren't trying to dupe anyone, the bags were not in the glass case, had low price tags and when I asked the sales associate, she told me that they were fake, but this is TOTALLY ILLEGAL and immoral! Many people don't know this, but shop owners certainly do. It is illegal to have a venue that sells fake designer goods whether it is new or used.

Based on the rude staff and the fact that they sell fake bags, I would never go to their shop again.…
