Awesome new owner. This store is the best, not the biggest selection but a good amount of things. awesome new owner, Ted is the man, very friendly and knowledgeable. Best prices in town! Been to the others, bigger selection, higher prices! Ted can get pretty much anything you are looking for. His helper Natasha is the coolest! Have to go by if you haven't been there in a while so many other things besides sports(Toys,Comics,Video Games, Etc.) Trust me the best shop in town!

Different Management - Same Good Deals. Howies Sports Cards in San Antonio in now under new management. Gone is the disorganization of the past. But what is still the same are the good deals the new owner has carried on with. The new owner Ted, now carries not only sports cards, but also Nascar die cast, McFarland's, some comics and various items that collectors look for. I have been to card stores from Virginia to Texas and have been collecting sports cards off an on since the early 70's. I find Ted to be friendly has good customer service and is very knowledgeable in the sports memorabilia market. Ted seems to be able to aquire cards that are hard for others to get or in good quantities. An example would be George Hill RC's, he carried more than I had seen anywhere else. I have gotten some great deals in Howies both before and after the ownership change. It's nice to see in these changing times that some things remain the same, the great deals at Howies.

Lots of Cards at cheap prices. I went ther last year for the first time. Right when you walk in there are hundreds of boxes all around. I finished two of my football sets there, It is great for finishing sets. My favorite kinds of cards are Bowman Chrome and there is a wide selection of different players. It is not very organized but it is a great cardshop. The best in town.

Howies if you got a few hrs to search and don't mind getting stared at go here.. Found a new card store here in Town. When you walk into Howies you are greeted by a large amount of card boxes and collectible toys. At first you feel you have entered a gold mine of new stuff to buy. That is until you realize how disorganized it is. The card boxes are intermixed with all 4 sports so there will be alot of digging to find players you need. Older cards are mixed in with new cards. On the Left hand of the shop there are several boxes of product and packs. But atlast it is that way due to their price. Unfortunately the Owner has all the product atleast 20% higher then the highest competitor here in town. Now all of this I can deal with. i have been through many a shop that was this way. But then there is the owner Tom. Tom is a decent guy who thinks everyone is going to rip him off. While you are looking through his boxes of stuff he is constantly watching everyone like a hawk. I actually feel sorry for the guy as this may lead to him being stressed out. he actually went on for an hr about a card being stolen when in actuallity he had placed it in a box for safe keeping.
