I love the haircut even though its only half way there to the look I wanted b/c the hairstyle I had before at another place was way too short and textured that I had to grown it out for two months. But Ryan fixed my hair the way I expected and gave me a bangs that I really like! Its simple and pretty. I am willing to go him from now on! And would recommend my asian friends to go there cuz typically I only go to asian salon and there is not one good in SA! Thanks alot!
- Pros: very considerate of what the customer wants and what's the best for the customer.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Bangz, particularly Ryan, but also with Elizar in his role as owner and manager. I first went to Bangz after getting a haircut I despised at another salon. Ryan and Elizar both looked at it and honestly told me that it was technically a good haircut .. but they could tell I hated it, so Ryan worked with me to fix it up to where I was happy. Thank you for that, Ryan! The original cut from the other salon was hands down the worst I have EVER felt about my hair, and he turned it into something that I loved.
A second noteworthy experience came during a different visit .. I could tell that Ryan was busy that day, so when he said he was done with me, I said OK and left, even though it wasn't exactly as I wanted it. After about a day, I figured I'd just call and see if they could help me out. They were great -- they got me in that day for him to finish the cut, and they DIDN'T charge me for it (unlike the two posters who said they were told they had to pay for it). I actually figured I would have to pay, but the receptionist (whose name I'm blanking on, but I think she's Ryan's sister) was like, "Of course not!"
Elizar seems to run a great business -- I like that every time I go in, he's visible. He's definitely not an owner/manager in name only; he's out there on the floor, working on customers or making suggestions to the other stylists. Ryan is the stylist I use when I go; I couldn't say enough good things about him if I tried. He's personable, he's knowledgeable, and he listens. The two experiences I've discussed above have made me trust Ryan and trust Bangz as a salon. Frankly, I'm shocked and pretty disbelieving of the two negative reviews as they sound 100% opposite from the treatment I've personally experienced at Bangz or the treatment of other customers I have witnessed while there.
Finally .. compared to other Aveda salons I've been to, this one is very reasonably priced! Ryan's a steal!

Don't even get me started...

This place has a beautiful website (which interested me first), a modern salon design, and is located in a nice neighborhood. I had nothing to fear, or so it seemed. I had highlights in my hair that i was trying to remove, i just wanted my dark brown hair back. Doesn't sound all that difficult, right? Tell that to the stylist Amanda. I showed her pictures of how dark i wante dthe brown to be, and she reassured me that i would be taken care of. Two hours later, I'm looking at a "red-purply" kind of auburn mess...I wanted to cry. She could see the dissapointment in my face. She offered to use a hair-dryer to get my hair straight, but told me that flat ironing it would be an extra 30 dollars...one of the owners of the place - the gentleman- was scolding her with his eyes for her even offering me the hair- dryer straightening. The woman at the front desk was very polite, and she asked me if everything was the way I wanted, even though she could already tell otherwise. She gave me a call back the next day, saying that she could tell that I wasn't satisfied with the work and wanted me to come back in to fix it. I go back, and the same girl was going to touch my hair. She tells me that she could do a ash brown for free, but for the dye job that would actually "fix" the redness problem, it was going to cost. Are you kidding me? She saw how that upsety me and went to talk to her boss again. She comes back out to tell me that they'll allow such a ting "this time" - like that is not common practice to fix the hair you ruined. Needless to say, I will never return to "Bangz".
- Pros: Nice ambience, location
- Cons: everything else
