Despite a very helpful and polite staff, we were slightly disappointed by our weekend stay here. Our bathtub was broken and unable to be fixed while we were there, the parking lot is difficult to find and small, and it's in a really sketchy location. However, the breakfast was good, the peach muffins were exceptional, and the movie library was a nice little touch.
- Pros: helpful staff, good breakfast, nice movie collection
- Cons: bad location, difficult parking, some maintenance issues
Highly Recommended!

I was greatly impressed with The Painted Lady! It is very romantic, charming and afforadable. We stayed in the Liberace room (which is not even the inn's best room), and it was much better than I expected. The room was spacious, the bed was great and the shower was hot and high-pressure. The inn's roof-top Jacuzzi is romantic and private -- and you can reserve it for just the two of you. The service was personalized and perfect. I highly recommend The Painted Lady to romantic couples. The only caution is that it is not in the best location. The area is a little sketchy, but not dangerous. I would recommend a car to drive the short distance (less than 5 min) back and forth from the riverwalk. I have no hesitation in returning -- now I have to think of reasons to go back to San Antonio!
- Pros: Very Romantic, Rooftop Jacuzzi, Great Value for $
- Cons: Location Not Perfect, No Gym or Pool, No Views
Great Romantic Spot
