ALWAYS BUSY. This place is always packed. Even the bar it is hard to get a drink. Everytime we have reservations we still have to wait a while for a table. The servers seem to be nice and knowledgable about the menu but I highly suggest NOT going with a large group. For my aunts birthday we went as a fmily and there were about 10 of us, My uncle is a very generous tipper and tipped 500 dollars on the tab and the 2 girls did not even than him and they obviously saw the tip. It will be dissappointing if you go in a group because of the wait and not having drinks refilled.

Best Cajun/Seafood Restaurant in San Antonio. Me & my husband have been dining at Pappadeauxs' for 15 yrs and think it's the best! My personal favorite restaurant in the whole city! Every time we dine there, the food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is divine! They also have live music on occassion which is also great! Beautiful outdoor patio with lush foliage and fountains. We've had fresh steamed lobster, oysters, mahi and so many other wonderful dishes and they've all been FABULOUS! Unlike some other smaller restaurants that don't care about good customer service, Pappadeauxs always has a manager available to tend to any complaint (if you even have one), and they are always gracious, kind & understanding. The waitstaff is also first class. Can't complain about any bad visits in this category. Would put this restaurant at #1 of my "Must Dine At" list!

If my tastebuds died tomorrow, they've lived a blessed life!. We just moved to San Antonio, and mostly I've been cooking at home. I really can't compare Pappadeaux to other area seafood restaurants, but I absolutely loved my experience here. Since we chose to grab a table on the patio, we were sat immediately. We had the Boudin appetizer, and I can honestly say that if my tastebuds died and fell off tomorrow, I have now lived a full culinary life and would count myself lucky. It really was THAT GOOD! We split the Greek salad, which is plenty for two, although the dressing was a bit too brassy for a Greek salad, in my opinion. The salad was prepared for us fresh at our table, which I felt was a really nice touch. Having spent more years than I care to mention working in restaurants, I get a little annoyed when I can tell that my salad has been made ahead of time and stacked up in the fridge. Also, though I can't have gluten, the bread looked, smelled and even sounded fresh, hot, and crusty. My husband had the sea bass, and he loved it. I had the Texas Redfish, and although it might be a lot more fattening than the traditional fish-dish (as it is prepared in butter) it was completely worth the extra running I had to do the next day! It was paired with the highest quality and most flavorful vegetables I have ever had at a restaurant, and everything was seasoned perfectly.

The only detraction on the menu was that there were very few "stand alone" fish entrees. Everything was topped with at least one variety of shellfish. While our waiter was VERY attentive to my allergy issues, and went the extra mile to make sure that I wouldn't become exposed to the shellfish (I just had them leave it off) it seemed like I was paying for something I wasn't getting. I would have preferred some menu options that didn't require any tinkering.

Other than that-- I can't wait to go back!

Delicious High-Quality Cajun Seafood. I've dined at this location numerous times and have never had any complaints. Their staff is extremely accomodating, the atmosphere is perfect, and the food is exceptional. Will be a customer for life :)

A worm on the Oysters!!!. I just went to this place with my family and we ordered 2 dozen oysters, the ones for $3.95 a dozen. My nephew noticed something moving on one of the oysters. To our surprise, the thing was actually moving!!!! It was a super nasty worm. We had one of the employees call the manger for us, he came back and said "someone said everything is ok" and we said again: "we want to talk to a manager". This "manager" lady came wearing an apron and told us in a very calm tone that the worm on the oyster was normal!!!! that it was a "natural occurence"!!! How's that for a delicious meal and excellent customer service?!!! How extremely discusting!!! So...if you want to run the chances of bumping into a nice moving worm on your oysters, or shall we say: "a natural occurence", (according to the manager) on your oysters... Go ahead and go to this place. Soooo discusting!!!!!
